Suggestions for AP stuck in a rut?

Hey All! I'm a passholder (who I'm sure you've seen comment on here bunch!) and I go to Disney solo about 4 times a year. I casually mentioned the Star Wars fireworks to DH the other night (he's going with me in May), and he freaked out about them. I haven't seen them though, because I always go to Fantasmic! I realized that after taking a year off from my AP I spent this past year re-visiting all of my favorite things, but there are SO many new things at the park to do. What are some suggestions for new things I may be missing out on? They can be totally obvious like the Star Wars fireworks, because I'll stop watching Fantasmic when you pry it from my cold dead hands...but I'd be willing to miss (*sob*) some of my favorites to make sure DH has a fun trip. New restaurants are also welcome suggestions, because he's a foodie while I live off of Nutella waffles, turkey legs, and Joffrey's Coffee. :thanks:

I'd definitely try to catch the Star Wars fireworks if you can; personally, I haven't been to Fantasmic since, but I'll need to get back there too. Not a table service, but we really enjoyed Satu'li Canteen when we visited last September and I'm anxious to go again on my solo trip in less than 2 weeks. Back at DHS, hit the Star Wars Launch Bay...obviously there's tons of new restaurants at Disney Springs. We tried The Boathouse and enjoyed it. At Epcot, Flower and Garden will probably still be going on, so you could both hit the food booths around the park and pick away...we also like La Hacienda de San Angel. They have a couple really good platters for two to share..one is seafood based, the other steak...something you wouldn't have when you're there solo.

Thanks! I've heard good things about that QS in pandora so I think we'll check that out too! And I haven't done Launch Bay yet either!

I've been going for over 34 years and go solo at least once a year (my honey hates travel, hates crowds, hates amusement parks) and at least once a year with my son (who has also been going for over 34 years). Instead of trying new things, I tend to try to do things I haven't done in years and try to do one semi-high ticket item at least once a year. We've done most of the tours at MK, been diving in the Living Seas (have to be a certified diver), done the special safari (Wanayama or something like that) at AKL, done the behind the seeds tour at the Land, done the tour that goes to all the parks. This year I think we might do the Wild Africa Trek at AK.
In all our years of going we have rarely repeated a TS and I'm ashamed to admit still haven't eaten at very many of the resort restaurants (that's on our list to try at least one our next trip in May). If he hasn't been maybe a monorail bar crawl would be nice, all the bars have food items so it's a nice way to get away from the crowds in the parks.

I'm not a fan of the Star Wars night time show since it's projection heavy and I'm height challenged. The two times I've tried to see it, both times getting there at least a hour before the show and getting a great spot, big tall wide men have squeezed in front of me at the last minute so I only saw what was happening in the sky. I refuse to do the dessert party for it because I'm not a huge sweet eater and there are so many other places to get better finger foods and drinks. But, if you want to see it that might be the way to go.

Have you tried Tiffins in AK and Nomad Lounge there? Tiffins is actually one of the few TS we have repeated and we go to Nomad Lounge just about every trip, we like the small plates and the drinks and just the atmosphere of the place. If he is a serious foodie and you don't mind mortgaging the house, V&A's is great. My son and I did it last year and while we certainly wouldn't do it every trip (with tip and both of us having a wine pairing it was about $750 for the meal) we loved it and felt it was worth it.

Did I see you mention Star Wars and Nutella in the same post? There is actually one place where you can get both: The Star Wars Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. It’s held in the Launch Bay near the character greeting area, and they serve a flash frozen (in dry ice!) Nutella dessert that is aaaamazing! The Star Wars themed mixed drinks are not bad either, and your husband might appreciate the reserved viewing area for the fireworks show, because it has a good view of all the projections, which are an important part of the show. It is pricey, but with alcoholic beverages included it’s probably one of the better dessert party values.

I am gonna do some tours if you fancy any of those
I fancy KTTK, Undiscovered Future World, Dining with an Imagineer and some of the AK and Seas adventures and tours.

I also love boat rides like the one from MK to Fort Wilderness campgrounds, Movies under the stars, The mini golfs
