my legs got CHEWED TO BITS by bugs tuesday night...and I knew it was this night cause I could feel them biting....mostly around fantasyland

The bugs were definitely bad!!!! I have been well over 30 times and can honestly say this is the first time I have noticed a bug problem!!!

Were you bitten by Mosquitoes or by the little black 'love bugs'? We just lost my b-in-law to West Nile last fall and my sister is bringing her boys on a long-promised and planned WDW vacation in August - wondering how bad the mosquitoes will be for them. FYI- We have friends who swear by Downy dryer sheets for children too young to use Deet.

Seems every year when we have gone there have been fires so that has kept the bugs away. I have already picked up a few cans of bug spray for the trip since my sis lives in Naples, FL and said she has confirmed that the state bird of FL is the mosquito. Do the fabric softener sheets work on adults too? I hate the smell of bug spray.

I have never known love bugs to bite. There are lots of gnats and "no see ums" (teeny tiny gnats) along with mosquitoes around right now in Florida. Wear bug spray or use the Avon Skin So Soft sunsreen that has bug spray in it. Worked for us - except on the BEES (DD got stung at AK)!

I've always (mis)thought that what I've heard people refer to as 'love bugs' and 'no see-ums' were the same as what we call gnats here in NJ - and those little tiny suckers can bite!(although they don't carry the viruses that mosquitoes can, to my knowledge).

Thanks, MouseClubMom, I never realized that these were all different bugs and that some of them don't bite at all = just thought they were different names from different parts of the country ! Too bad we all have mosquitoes !!

Love bugs are actually pretty funny looking bugs, and from what I've been told, they dont bite. Here's a link to a picture I found:
