Does anyone have a favorite island that is reasonable in price for an all inclusive? DH's family is located all over the US and Canada and want to take a family trip together. We will have about 15 people, ranging in age from DD 7 months to 60's. We are looking to go in February. DMIL came back from the TA with brochures for Jamaica. DH and I spent a week in Negril 2 years ago and loved it. She wants to go to Montego Bay or Ochi. Will we be disappointed after staying in Negril? We have not ruled out any islands. It just needs to be an AI and accessible to activities. Price is a factor but no budget has been nailed down. Any suggestions are appreciated! TIA!

My SIL and her DH went to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana a few years ago, completely loved it and it was very reasonably priced.

Dh and I did a day pass in Aruba a few years ago that I really liked, it was the Occidental Grand Aruba. We also did a day pass at Occidental Grand Cozumel, very nice. But with only spending a few hours at each resort it's difficult to know whether I recommend it for a whole week. We did not see the rooms in either resort, and didn't experience service enough to form an opinion. But I liked what I saw!

We also researched Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya for our honeymoon...it got great reviews, but we ended up doing a cruise instead. Tripadvisor.com is a great place to check out resorts once you narrow your list down.

hth!

We've stayed at several Iberostar resorts and have never been disappointed.

With the age ranges of the people I would suggest the Mexican Rivieria. There's lots to see/do for those who want to and there's also plenty to do at the resort for those that don't want to venture off.

We stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya and loved it!

The Riu in Ocho Rios is a great resort for a family. it's pretty big with lots to do. Dunn's River Falls is near by. Also, it is near a place to swim with dolphins and river tubing. I don't think you'd be disappointed at all. We swam in the ocean and went snorkling every day!

The Excellence is an adults only AI, FWIW.

We've stayed a number of times in Punta Cana and have been happy with each resort. My number one favorite was the Paradisus Palma Real. That one is pricy, though. My second favorite is next door to the Paradisus and is the Melia Caribe Tropical. I think the meals were better at the Melia, but you had to buy better wines with dinner if you wanted them. They were included at the Paradisus. The Paradisus also had turndown service. The Melia is huge. Make sure to request a room near the beach/pool if you go there. Otherwise, you'll be taking a train to get to the beach each day.

Thanks everyone! This gives me a great starting point. There is so much information out there that I was feeling overwhelmed.
