Sugar Free jello for kids dessert,You gotta be kidding

I whole heartedly agree with you there. I definitely didn't mean to sound like everything natural is not harmful to *some* people, as everything artificial is not harmful to everyone either. I personally have "oral allergies", which means I cannot have most fruits raw(apples, peaches, pears, cherries, plums, the list goes on and on) without serious consequences, but if they are cooked, no reaction. Try explaining that to people.....My point is that, while "sugar-free" things may not be harmful to some people, they are very harmful to others. However, I don't expect Disney to know what is best for my child, that is my job. I am just thankful that there are alternatives, even if I have to spend $3 on a cup of fruit. (which, in reality, is a drop in the pan when you are spending hundreds of dollars on vacation).

"Everything is harmful to somebody." :) I think the main point, though, is that people shouldn't confuse the concepts: natural versus artificial, and healthy versus unhealthy. There are natural things that are healthy, and natural things that are unhealthy. There are artificial things that are healthy, and artificial things that are unhealthy. There is no real correlation between the two variables.

However, I don't expect Disney to know what is best for my child, that is my job.
It is important to note that all high-profile companies (including Disney) have been subjected to unreasonable pressure concerning the food they make available for children. Saying, "it is up to our customers to decide," often results in condemnation, and bad public relations. These companies have to weigh their options, and balance sometimes conflicting objectives. A lot of the blame for the child meals can be laid at the feet of a sensationalistic press, fed by hyper-sensitive interest groups. Between that and cost pressures imposed by guests, themselves, the options that Disney does make available are actually quite impressive.

This may be one of the few examples where cash guests might blame the dining plan.

The kids meal plan costs around $11. A kids character meal costs around
$15, including tax and tip, and a snack is worth $3-$4. It wouldn't be a reach to think Disney is looking for a CS dessert that is cheap and easy to serve. Parents can always share their dessert with their kids or use a snack credit.

I think Disney could drop the dessert from the CS meals, even for adults. Either give guests an extra snack, or make the change as an alternative to a price increase.

Not necessarily. People paying cash also want a good deal. The Dining Plan is a winner for Disney because, at least when guests follow the rules, folks on average contribute more revenue for meals to Disney than they would have without the Dining Plan.

Sounds good to me.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME...6 pages on Suger Free Jello...We are talking about "The Happiest place on Earth"..and we have a 6 page thread on SUGAR FREE JELLO..please tell me this is a joke!!!! People spend thousands of dollars to come to Disney to vaction, have fun, and get away from home, wherever that might be. People are coming to Disney, where the weather is beautiful, and probably alot better weather then from where they live, and we are complaining about SUGAR FREE JELLO???? I would think that you would be more concerned with having a good time, seeing the shows, getting on the rides and making sure that your family has the best possible trip. But then what do i know...I like Sugar Free Jello....

I thought for sure that would bump it over to 7. I'll have to start counting posts per page or something.

And just so I'm not completely off-topic, we threw away every jello cup after the first. No, wait -- we threw that one away too.

:goodvibes And alas, you could not resist adding your opinion to the rest of ours, on the 6 pages. It seems we all have one. As the original poster, I only expressed the opinion that I felt we all should have a choice, and that would include my kids. I think it is wonderful we can all express our opinion on the subject, for those who love sugar free jello, and for those who don't. It has been fun to read all the opinions. And yes, WDW is the happiest place on earth.:dance3: When my kids know they are getting dessert because it is part of their DDP as advertised I want them to be happy with their choice, and I want them to have a choice other than sf jello. I will do all I can to make their trip to the World magical.

 I don't think 6 pages of opinions on one subject is bad, after all you read them and posted on this thread yourself. I am so glad you expressed your opinion, that is what these boards are for, and I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do.:grouphug: :cheer2:

It's not like those of us who posted on this thread are the only crazy people who have ever put thought into their Disney dining! :confused3 Obviously, since there is an entire DIS board dedicated to dining, it is a concern for quite a few people! :grouphug:

Maybe, Mater Man, Disney is about other things for you. That's fine, but then what are you doing on the Dining boards? ;)
