Suffering from Verandah Man Withdrawl

Sorry, ncligs! I have been on painkillers since Wed....recovering from surgery. I wasn't thinking too clearly.. I'm sorry if I offended anyone! Especially Andy or his family! I would hate that. I'll be more careful. And when the pills kick in, I'll log off. hehe.

Again, I am sorry.

Ursula :(

P.S. I edited my post to remove that thoughtless comment! Thank you for pointing it out. I love these boards and although sometimes people silly..my comment was out of line!
Thank Goodness I can edit!!:D

Getting ready to get off the ship at St Maarten, docked at 7am, waiting for DD to get up and dressed. DW just went up the room to get her moving.

Waiting to here back from Debbie about a price for next year, my Dmom, Dsis, and Dniece, want to cruise again with us, we are 6 hooked cruisers!!!!!!!!!

Now over 200 photos, and 8 handwritten pages of notes!!!!!!

Oh Lordy, it will take me forever to type out my trip report, LOL!!!

Bye for Now!!!

That's great, Verandah Man! My family is keeping yours in our prayers. Enjoy!

Ursula

Andy - copuldn't stay away, could you? :teeth:

If you want to do San Juan, think about August 7th. We have a great group already going and you can help share the list keeping duties with me! :)

I think I've finally read most of the posts since our magical vacation. I had the privilege of spending my wait time in the terminal with Buckaroo’s Dad and his family. In fact, BD and family were ahead of us when we were waiting to enter the DCL area from the parking lot. So, in reality, they were there first! My daughter and I were first in the terminal (we left the check-in bags with my MIL so that we could take some pictures in the terminal before everyone arrived). Shortly afterwards, BD and family were behind us in the line to board.

We started talking and BD said that this was his second cruise. He also commented that we were both traveling with three generations. Then he made a comment about shrimp and mango soup. Rae – he did you proud! Shortly thereafter, he went to stand in line at the check-in counter (he was first in the line there). I turned to his mother, and asked if her son was Steve and were they from New York? She looked at me in surprise and said yes.

Needless to say, there was no shortage of conversation during our wait in line. We also saw them many times on-board and in ports. BD is a little quiet but very thoughtful and considerate. His son and mother are also great people. I spent some time with BD’s mother in/around the ship. What a lovely lady! Buckaroo is a great kid. My family went on the Stingray excursion with everyone and had a blast! Buckaroo always stopped to say hello and played a little ping-pong with us on-board.

I also had the privilege of meeting Andy and his family. What a great family! Yes, Andy is a bit quiet and shy in person. However, once he gets to know you, he is very outgoing. He came bouncing out of his room wearing his cruisin’ shirt, DIS button (name on lime green Mickey on one side and the Fidelio fan club logo on the back), and Captain Verandah hat! He was sooo excited he was literally trembling. His excitement was contagious! (Made me want to stow-away on the ship with them).

I am sure that Andy is bouncing around, chatting with everyone and having the time of his life on this cruise!

-Sarah

P.S. I was talking to BD's mother and mentioned that we re-booked for the 8/21 cruise. She said that they are also on that cruise!

Sarah -

Thanks for the newsy update. It answered several questions I had about Andy and BD and their families. It sure has been quite on the boards while they are traveling.

Sandy

Whoops! My apologies to the Fidelio Fan Club! I briefly met Fidelio's family - the Radisson shuttle drove up (I had to run to catch it to meet Andy) just as we started talking. Another nice family! Fidelio says hello to everyone and will try to post when he has time. He hasn't mastered how to reply to a post which is why he has not been on the boards. Hopefully, he'll figure it out soon. :)

Now I am really suffering from Verandah Man withdrawl and Fidelio withdrawl!!!!!

I did get a personal e-mail from Andy and Hazel, which helped.

And you got to meet the Piano Guy's family - wonderful! I heard great things about his wife from some of the CM's who have already met her. She must be a wonderful woman to be able to work with his career taking him away so often! But it does take two to make a marriage work - so they both must work hard at their relationship!! Good for them!

I always knew that BD was a softie from our e-mails. Thanks for confirming it to the Disney Boards!!!!!

I sure hope that Andy decided about a 2004 cruise soon so I can change my reservations and change them I will if it's still the San Juan cruise and he's on. Maybe more of us can plan this together!!!!!!

I am waiting on that as well - I plan to book a San Juan cruise when I am on board 9/20. It would be fun to travel with both your families.

Yes, that would be so wonderful!!!
I just hope Andy and BD can do it (school schedules for their children).

Rae

I know Andy said he booked the August 21st San Juan cruise, but it would be cool if we could convince him and the rest of you thinking of joining him on that cruise to go two weeks earlier on the 7th. We have a fun bunch of DISers booked on that cruise and most of us can't go any later due to school - either college returnees or teachers/administrators that have to get back to work. If we could combine the two groups, it would be one helluva cruise.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be together :D
And it would be the Magic's first official stop at San Juan so I am sure they will be pulling out all the stops.

Okay Rae, I can't resist any longer. I didn't realize they "drawled" (def: to utter in a slow, lengthened tone)! :jester: Hey - I spent time talking with BD! ;)

I am so excited to hear VMs trip report and see his pictures! Although, I really don't wish his trip to go by too quickly!

I haven't booked yet for the 8-21-04 cruise, I am still waiting to hear back from Donna, going to see if I can find her tonight, 8-7-04 might be possible???

Will let everyone know later.

Just got back from Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas about 1 and 1/2 hours ago.

We are having brunch on Thursday with 15 in the private room at Palo.

I think I put this on another thread, Captain Verandah and his family was given Priority Boarding at the terminal, you should have seen all the stares that Captain Verandah was getting, he even heard little kids saying to their parents, "Look mom, there goes that captain!!!"

Captain Verandah was having a "BALL"

Gotta Run!!! Still having a BLAST!!!

"Verandah Man"

BTW, Travis (mostyn17) has still been avoiding me, Travis where are you??? He! He!

Andy
You would have such fun on the 7th Aug cruise - I promise!!!
Enjoy brunch - being in the private room is such fun.
Wendy

Andy...Why does she have to get back to you? Didn't she give you the prices and specifics when you sat with her?

Did rebooking change on the Magic?

Joanna

Andy posted this on the August 23rd thread and asked that it be repeated on the other related threads (he should have paid for internet for the week :)

I managed to get DW, Dsis, and Dniece to join me after all for the Sapphire Beach Day on St. Thomas. Several other DIS'ers were their with their families (Pickles61-Mindy, aa4mom-AnnMarie, and allshookup-Diane).

DW and DD are now headed to the Buena Vista Theatre to see "Holes" I will be joining them at 5:30 to see "Pirates of the Caribbean."

We have had a beautiful day here in St. Thomas, tomorrow we have 15 DIS'ers meeting for brunch at 10:30 at Palo.

If someone. could copy and paster this message onto some on the other threads, that would be GREATLY appreciated. I have 5 free minutes of internet time this afternoon, but that time goes quickly, especially as slow as I type

Sorry for any typos, but not going back to proof read any messages.

Bye for now,

Verandah Man

How sad, this will be my last post from the MAGIC, getting ready to go see Disney Dreams in a little bit.

We did book the 8-21-04 cruise, b/c my mom, sis, and niece, could not afford the 8-7-04 cruise, DD said she did not want to cruise with us next year.

Had a excellant Brunch at Palo today. We has Kristian from Croatia as our server. We had 13 show up for brunch, and the food, was out of this world.

Tomorrow is Castaway Cay, then we head home :( now I see why so many go off the ship kicking and screaming!!!

Next post will be from NJ.

Bye from the Magic!!!

Andy -- sad to see that your trip is coming to an end, but we're all anxious to read your report! :)

BTW...I thought Disney Dreams was on Castaway Cay day? Is this a change?
