Thursday
Today we have booked Magnolia Golf course for 10. 15 a.m. so we had early breakfast at the hotel and drove over. I decided I would drive the buggy today and go round with Keith and Iain. I actually quite enjoyed it as they were paired off with 2 other men, one of whose wife also went round and funnily enough was also called Susan. We chatted quite a bit while the men golfed. It was in fact such an enjoyable day that we booked up for Lake Buena Vista course for a few days later.
Friday
Animal Kingdom today. The forecast was for thunderstorms today but we never saw any !! The Park was very busy but we managed on most of the rides without too much wait. By late afternoon we decided to leave and have another drive to SSR, really intending to also visit the other DVC resorts too, but while we were walking round SSR we met one of the DVC reps who offered to give us a tour - so how could we resist that offer ??? Even my son was impressed with what he saw. Grandstand was our favourite I think, as this is in the middle of the golf course. I can't remember where we ate that night at all, but all we could talk about was our first visit "home" next year - it can't come quick enough now !!
Saturday
Today was the final of the rugby world cup, and normally I would be watching it, but I was in Florida and didn't care who won at all ! Had an early breakfaat and were at MGM by 9 a.m. It's not my favourite Park but I do love Fantasmic so we stayed till the end today. For some reason this was the busiest I have ever seen MGM in all the years we have visited Florida. There were queues everywhere !! We even noticed a 70 minute queue for Little Mermaid, and didn't even get to see Indiana Jones !!! Sadly we did see a thunderstorm though, but it only lasted an hour. One thing I do admire at WDW is the speed and efficiency at emptying the Parks at closing time.
In under 40 minutes from leaving Fantasmic we were in International Drive, at Ponderosa, and starting our meal.
Sunday
Universal Studios. IMO this Park needs a slight re-shuffle. It is so quiet compared to its partner, IOA. You can walk onto any ride - E.T, Jaws, Mummy, Earthquake, Twister, etc. I do enjoy them but it lacks the magic of Disney. The thunderstorm in the middle of the afternoon didn't help much either !! We had sat at Mels Drive-in with our cokes, ready to watch "The Vinyls" group sing 50's and 60's songs, when the heavens opened !! It was lucky we had our Disney Ponchos with us. We fancied Golden Corral tonight, but when we got there, we saw a notice on the door saying they don't accept Travellers cheques so we left and went to Bennigans, yet again (we like this place !!) Iain wanted his photo taken with Simpsons !!
Monday
Magic Kingdom today - my favourite Park of them all !! It was roasting and the weather channel reported 100% humidity today - boy were they right.
I love Splash Mountain so got fast passes for later on after only a 5 minute wait in the morning. It was packed but no massive queues anywhere though. We decided to leave around 6 p.m. but we're coming back here before we go home. My son wanted more clothes so had a couple of hours at Premium Outlets for heading out for dinner at night.
Another week to go and more photos to follow !!
