"SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! It Builds Character and Strength!" A July 2011 TR-COMPLETE 4/5

Great update!

I love Jungle Cruise too; it's always a little different because of your skippers! And the corny jokes are classic.

I got back yesterday from a short trip and I got the monorail shirt! Also, was stuck on the monorail at Poly for a while because Monorail Green was having some maintenance trouble. We got monorail stickers and trading cards..never got those before! Next time you go you'll have to ask about them! Just thought another monorail lover would like to do haha!

Yay! Good for you! :thumbsup2 That's awesome! I'll keep it in mind, thanks! :goodvibes

I've never been to Casey's before, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I just looked at a menu, and I've decided I absolutely must try it next trip. The Barbecue Slaw Dog sounds delicious.

It's great! You definitely should!

Wait...there's a Barbecue Slaw Dog!?!?!? Woah. Must try that one out. :worship:

Okay, I want Casey's for lunch now. Like RIGHT NOW. Ahhhh, I love Casey's

You got some awesome pictures of the parade from where yall were sitting!

Yes, and it sounds glorious - "topped with pulled pork, cole slaw, and barbecue sauce". Now that's what I call a hot dog. I just go wild for good barbecue. I hear the word and come a-runnin' faster than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"!

I definitely plan on stopping at Casey's next trip, whenever that is...:sad1:

OMG! :worship: That sounds delicious! I want one!!!!!

You should! It's fantastic.

Me too!! It's so yummy! :goodvibes

Thanks! It was a great viewing spot!

I always want to eat at Casey's because it's adorable, but, since I'm from Cleveland, I can't eat hog dogs without Ballpark Mustard. Maybe I'll just have to bring my own with me sometime. Do you think Security would let me in with a bottle of mustard in my bag? :rotfl:

I haven't seen the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade in so long. I love the music they use for it. You guys had an excellent view. Clearly the trick to getting a good spot for the parade is eating at Casey's. :thumbsup2

That was great! I hadn't had a chance to read trip reports for a while so I had so much to read! Loving your Magic Kingdom day.
And I'm glad that French Quarter has good breakfasts!

Ahhh the pirate: and princess: party!! SOOOO much fun! They should bring that back!!!

Great update. Love it!!

I agree!!! That was the BEST!!! :thumbsup2

They let me bring in school bread, so I don't see why not!

Their breakfasts were great!

Great update! I really have to go to Casey's someday. I'm not a big hot dog fan, but I really want to try those corn dog nuggets that everyone always talks about! :cool1:

The parade looks so cute, I can't remember the last time I watched the afternoon parade in MK, I will have to try to catch it on my next trip!

Oooh I've heard good things about Casey's. I love hot dogs so I need to make a stop there sometime!

I haven't seen Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade yet ,but it looks so cute! I'm going to listen to the music now while I get caught up on everyone's TRs :)

Chapter 15- Clang, Clang, Clang Went the Trolley...

July 26th, 2011

Hey ya'al! After a long practice doing the same scene over and over again for Grease, which involved me having to freeze in very awkward positions, I have one of those rare nights when I'm all caught up on homework! So here comes an update!!!

After lunch, Mike said probably one of the most precious things ever. But it deserves a backstory first. When we were little, we always used to go to Casey's and eat Cracker Jacks on the bleachers and watch those old Disney cartoons. Well Mike purposely didn't eat his so he could eat them on the bleachers and watch cartoons. It was adorable. No matter how reserved a guy he is, he's really just a big nostalgic softie.

So what did we do? We went inside and he shared his Cracker Jacks with me while we watched various cartoons such as...

Skiing Goofy! An all-time FAVORITE for both of us.

I don't remember exactly what this one was called, but it was funny!

dsc01870p.jpg

YAY! It was so cute and so fun. It's times like those that I'm really thankful I have a brother who I have so many great childhood memories with. Gotta love him.

After that, I still REALLY wanted to shop! So we cut over into the Emporium and I browsed around. I saw these and reminded myself to tell my mom about them in August. We love to make popsicles in the summer, and these were cool because they had straws attached. I love innovative kitchenware. :P

I then saw this:

If you read Jess' April TR with her mom, she bought me this when she was there! YUM. How nice of her.

Mike tried these little beauties on:

I can't remember if he got them though! I think he might have.

I got this pressed penny:

I love these! I have to get at least one every trip! They're such fun souveniers, and they're only 51 cents! Ya just can't beat that! I thought this one was very classic Disney.

I also bought this for my mom:

C'mon, every household needs a Mickey cookie cutter. It's a necessity.

While I was browsing and buying, I heard some very familiar music coming from outside. It sounded like "Clang, clang!"

THE TROLLEY SHOW!!!!!!!!

I RAN outside and got so excited! I love the Trolley Show. I love the music, I love Main Street...ahh it just reminds me of childhood. I would love to be in that show. It's so cute! Here are some pics for ya'al:

That guy winked at me.

I just adore that show.

After that whole hulabaloo was over and we were all done shopping, we remembered a nifty little Fastpass that was burning a whole in my bag. So we headed over that way!

You all know what that means....more castle pics! HAHA.

So photogenic.

On our way through Frontierland, we saw an awful sight. If ya'al have a weak stomach, I suggest you scroll down past what I am about to show you.

:scared1:

I know. Tour Groups. Ugh. They were all lined up for the next Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade. It was irksome. I like that word. That's exactly what they were. Irksome. I wonder if they're used to getting sniped by DIS haters?? They should be.

Anyway, for those of you who are now rejoining me, we headed past those violators of Disney peace and forward to pay a visit to the Brer Animals of the Magic Kingdom! We used our Fastpass and hopped right on...in the front. Again! It was lovely as ever and we got SOAKED.

Here we are: (in the front!)

dsc01902b.jpg

It's not super clear, but we were doing a thoughtful pose. Ya know, those ones where you put your thumb and forefinger on your chin and sorta tilt your head to the side? Yeah, that. We're cute.

After that we met up with Dave and headed to Fantasyland, because Mike really wanted to ride It's a Small World....

Ladies and Gentlemen of the DISboards, I am NOT kidding. He loves the classic Disney feel to it, and I like the song. He also likes to name all the countries as we go through them. I like to point out all the weird animals that are doing odd things, like throwing eggs. What's up with that, platypus?

These are the questions that haunt my life.

Anyhow, we walked by and noticed a 25 minute wait. UHHH no. Not worth it at all. So, we headed over to another of my all-time fave Magic Kingdom attractions...which you'll hear about next time! Au revior, readers! :thumbsup2

Oh, I empathize with you regarding having to freeze over and over again during you rehearsal for Grease. We did Cabaret in college, and there was a scene where I had to freeze too. Uncomfortable. Plus, when the show was actually live, I was positioned up in the audience when we froze. So all I could think about was "don't move, these people are looking at you!" :lmao:

I sure hope that if Mike did buy those little beauties, that he remembered to store them safely on Soarin'.....;)

Love the Trolley show! Whenever I hear that music, I can never get it out of my head.

Yay for an update!
I'm likin' the new Lion King avatar ;)
Cute story about the cracker jacks. How precious.
I love pressed pennies. I have books of them. I used to be OBSESSED. Maybe I should start collecting them again.
LOVE the trolley show.
Fancy castle picture!
YAY for splash mountain.
And LOL about it's a small world. "ladies and gentlemen of disboards I am NOT kidding." :rotfl:
