How about a success thread. It seems it is hit and miss between stores and managers..

I went to a 2nd store, after getting a no this AM. In all fairness had 1% thinking it would work.. I 1000% intended to only spend and save the 600$ worth of other stuff for the 20% off. Diapers/food/ 2 Roku 3s/ Christmas presents/ect . But TL was right behind my lady at the register and said, oh yes those are entertainment cards and things worked out. So I asked for 6K, and the store capped at 5K.. No problem here I will take 5K and run!

* I was not able to use the additional 5%, as this was a manual over ride of 10 100$ coupons off the order. (and she did it separate).

In Michigan if it matters where. Maybe it will help someone.
My brother also went to this same store and bought 2900$ of these as well.

Anywhere near Holland, Grand Rapids, or Portland MI by chance?

I will PM store info, anyone interested PM me, but hesitate just incase she was not supposed too . I don't know if it is a no no she didn't know, or individual store managers allowed to make judgment calls.

Thanks!

that is amazing! Good for you for not accepting "no" and trying it out for yourself! What was your total savings?

1st time posting... But wanted to share my success. Told the sales person that I had read about others who had been able to apply the discount, and she had the manager sign off on an override. Manager was actually excited to see me buying $2k worth of cards and started asking me questions about my trip and when I was going. I can't say enough good things about my experience.
On another note, bought all my cards from money I had been saving from secret shopping apps and surveys... Almost to my goal of a free trip to disney world!

I also had success. I didn't need many, we have a bunch of cards already, but this helped round out paying for our dining OOP for our 12/31-1/7 trip for our 10th anniversary.

I picked up the cards, went to guest services, asked about the entertainment card classification for Disney cards, a manager confirmed that to be correct. I asked, so can we try to do the purchase of these cards with the 20% off coupon? She tried, it didn't come up, but she acknowledged the classification and offered to override it. I was very appreciative.

I'm in PA, suburbs of Philly. If you want store info, please PM me as well.

1000$ in Disney GC, and I believe 145$ from free in store gift card promos, and the 20% off my 600$ order. so under 1200$ but not much. (not include the SW miles I got since I couldn't use red card adding about another 3.67% of 4600$ at about 170$ worth ).

Went to my local Target and didn't get the 20%. Manager called guest services and still no luck, he told me to ask for store numbers where the coupon were honored so he call that store to see how they were able to get discount:confused3 anyone who got this can you post your store number and manager if you know:confused3

I bought $1400 in cards saving 280 plus 55 more for the redcard discount. I went straight to CS desk and skipped checkout. I was kind and confidant. Team member agreed they are entertainment cards and should be included in offer. He said it was confusing and vague. He didn't know how to override it and called a manager. I was worried she would say no. She was super busy and just seemed to want to get me through. She had to think how to do it. She re-rang it under her id. She put in three manual coupons totaling $280. She explained to Team Member how to do it. I thanked her and went on my way.

Not in retail and not sure how these things work but the manager seemed to light up when she saw my total. Something tells me they don't mind giving then discount if it increases their total sales. Same reason some managers were just giving the coupon away without a purchase....hey, it gets someone back in their store to spend money!

Though this will be a shorter thread than the other (it didn't work) thread, it is nice to hear that there are success stories out there. Congrats to the people who had nice/helpful/willing managers at their Target stores!

Did not work in Norman, Oklahoma. Will try again later in the week, just in case, when I am going back for my 20% off groceries, stc. The price marker on the cards said "Disney", not "Entertainment", but I gave it a shot. I was good natured about it and so were they. I told them my friend in Michigan had gotten the discount.

First, congratulations to getting a store manager to override the computer.

Second, it seems to me that if you're getting a store manager to do an override, that it means the computer is set to not accept any type of gift cards/entertainment cards/etc.

Can you please pm me! Hoping to make this work tonight.
