Success upgrading to DVC Gold

Thanks for all the advice I received. I was able to use my 7 day MYW tickets and I asked for a DVC gold certificates - made sure I said it clearly that I did not want an active pass. At first I was offered what I paid for my tickets towards the price so I asked politely again to upgrade my tickets. The CM said oh yes of course, so she had to upgrade each ticket first. After that she applied them to each pass. I got 4. Didn't need to show membership card. She said that would only be needed when I activated them. I plan to activate two of the APs in March. My only question I didn't ask is if I can link them to my MDE ahead of time to make FP? I assume yes.

Yes you can link a AP voucher to MDE to make advance FP. you just need the ticket # to enter into MDE

Yes, exactly, but it's called a certificate. I did this so I can activate and use it when we are back in March and still get the 13 months. Otherwise I could have just renewed our current APs, but for us this is better planning for our next few trips to have the later expiration date.

Interesting. I'm a DVC member too. We currently have APs. This is something to keep in mind.

Yes you can't upgrade over the phone.

Yes, that is the only way to upgrade. That's why I brought the tickets with me on this trip. It doesn't always work out if you don't know your plans that far in advance. I have at other times used a MYW ticket and then upgraded while on vacation to an AP. This is my first time upgrading to an AP certificate to be activated later.
