I was at WalMart this evening specifically to use some coupons that were to expire today. I bought only items that I use regularly and had a coupon for each item. I even added the coupons up before I got in the checkout line.
The past few times I have had the feeling that I wasn't getting credit for all the coupons I handed over to the cashier. I try to watch closely, but still the total never seemed right. This time, I watched closely and thought she missed one. She was so quick though that she finished the transaction before I could question her. As soon as she hande me the receipt I added up the coupons. It was easy since I had three free items, 4 $2, 3 $1 and 1 $.75. Sure enough one of the $1 was missing.
I decided to take a stand, after all, the store gets credit even though I didn't. I found a CSM and questioned what should I do in the future. She took me right over to the register and asked the cashier for the coupons. It took her a minute, but she found the error and had the cashier hand me $1.
Now had it been 10 or 25 cents, I may not have said anything, but $1
Just thought I would share that sometimes it does pay to speak up.
