Subway

Gah, now I'm craving Subway. I could eat a 6-inch veggie on wheat every day for the rest of my life & die a happy girl.

Too bad veggie isn't included in the deal -- that would be my go-to midnight snack (that occurs at 10 p.m. because I can't stay awake until midnight) for the next month.

I'll just have to settle for a bowl of nachos every night instead. :rolleyes1

I'm thinking you could just order a cold-cut whatever, hold the cold-cut. That's my plan!

In regards to the Subway haters, especially re: the bread, it really seems to vary from store to store. I think it's a management/franchise issue, because the Subways in the town I work in are great...in the town I live in, they're just okay. HUGE difference in quality.

That is BRILLIANT!!

The one thing I don't like about Subways are that there are SO many variations in quality because they're franchised owned. The guy that owns the one nearest to me is a major cheapskate... and employees some pretty dang cranky people (of course with a manager like him, I understand why they're cranky).

DH worked at a Subway in high school and the owner there was GREAT. He was very, very, very particular about how the bread & the cookies were made. He wasted more than he should simply because he was so picky about serving the freshest stuff. The majority of the produce he bought locally & instructed the employees on how thick to cut it... none of those paper thin tomato slices there!

Thank you! I hope it works---I could eat an awful lot of veggie subs at $2!

While we're bossing people around and telling them what to eat and not to eat, can I just say, "People, when you are blow drying your hair, use your nozzles!"

Thanks, I feel better now.

This is what is in a chicken breast at Subway:

Chicken Breast Strips: Boneless, skinless, chicken breasts with rib meat, water, soy protein concentrate, salt, modified food starch, chicken flavor (contains salt, autolyzed yeast extract, sugar, molasses, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, sodium phosphates), and sodium phosphates.

Sounds Yummy!
I hope you don't eat any fast food then, cause that is pretty much the case at every chain restaurant I know of. Chipotle is one of the only exceptions, and one of the only fast food places I eat at anymore.

Hair dryers have nozzles? :confused3

(Says the air dry only girl! My hair is too thin/fly-away for hair dryers. Just makes it look worse!)

After reading so much about Subway, I couldn't help but think of this.

I think this will be our new snack before class for December. Although it's still not as good as Togo's, which is monday tradition. Their $5 special includes chips and a drink. Monday is Pastrami or Meatball, I love the Pastrami.

I would expect no less from someone who feeds her children pudding for breakfast on a daily basis. Gotta love them artificial flavors. Send me a PM and I will gladly send you a year’s supply of fresh fruit.

You can send fresh fruit via private messages now? That's awesome!

I always thought I was at least keeping up with technology, but now the Internet, the DIS, and the quoted poster have combined to show me I'm falling drastically behind!

Maybe on Farmville through Facebook you can. :lmao::lmao:

I don't get the chicken breast there, or at any fast food restaurant, but while Subway is far from perfect it is one of the better options for fast food. Them, along with Chipotle, are a better option than most and I don't go there every day or even every week but once or twice a month.

You are right, delis or local places that use all natural vegetables and meats that don't add a bunch of chemicals is the better option and should be where people eat most often but since practicality has to come into play the occasional Subway or Chipotle isn't going to cause you to be obese. This is especially true if you don't load whatever you get with mayo or sour cream.

Woot! The 2$ deal for cold cut combo and meatball sub is all December!

Everybody line up for healthy fresh eats like pickled peppers

Well you're better than me...My kids got the cheap GoodStart.

You're better than me - my kids got Target generic :)

FWIW, my family loves Subway. I am eh on it - because I had a bad sub when pregnant a few years ago and still have issues getting past it (but have eaten Subway a handful of times since). Vomiting like that while pregnant - leaves a lasting impression!! :thumbsup2

When I go, I get a veggie on wheat, white american. light lettuce, green pepper, olives, tomatoes (if they look good), jalapenos, and toasted. Light on the mayo (NOT light Mayo, but go lightly on the full fat mayo), and salt and pepper.

I really liked them a lot better when they did the old cut of the bread. Not a fan of the "new".

Now, Jimmy John's or Milio's - I could eat a sub from there every meal of everyday..

Well good for you for saving yourself. But guess what? We don't need you saving us also.

I can just imagine what you are like in real life. You are probably one of those who seems to think that everyone wants to hear your lecture and lesson on anything they eat. Trust me, they don't care. Police yourself, but when it comes to others, just shove a hormone free, backyard raised, oven roasted, skin removed chicken leg in your mouth and let the thought pass you on by.

Is there any possible way this person is the lady that throws away people's doughnuts?

DOUGHNUTGATE!
