Substitutions on the DDP?

Can you make simple substitutions at WDW restaurants on the DDP? Meaning, for example, if your entree comes with rice and you would like french fries instead, are restaurants accommodating? Or something like double veggies instead of veggie and starch? How about something like this...I'm allergic to raspberries. If a dessert comes with raspberry sauce, could I get the dessert without the sauce, or are they pre-plated? My questions are regarding TS restaurants. Thanks!

Depends on the specific restaurant, but in general, yes, you should be able to do simple substitutions.

As for allergies, they will always do their best to accommodate you.

Thank you! Do I tell them when I make my ADRs that I have a raspberry allergy so they can note it on our ADR? Last time we ate at buffets so I didn't do this, as there are ALWAYS many choices without raspberries at buffets! But for a la carte restaurants, the desserts are more limited and some seem to have raspberries or raspberry sauce. It's not a life-threatening allergy, thank goodness...I get hives, very itchy and annoying, but nothing dangerous like my throat closing up or anything.

Just so you know allergies can progress to be more intense at each exposure. Someone I knew was allergic to brazil nuts and each exposure was increasiingly more intense to where now his throat does start to close. I'm not saying that will happen to you but you should be careful.

Yes, when you make your ADR tell them you have a food allergy and they will make a note of it. When you arrive at your restaurant they will have a little note that they will bring to your table and the server will go get the chef and he will come to your table and tell you what is safe/unsafe. If for some unknown reason you do not have this little note at your table, tell your server you would like to see the chef b/c someone in your party has a food allergy.

Thank you. Yes, I am aware that allergic reactions could change over time, even from one exposure to another. That's why I don't take any chances. I don't even eat anything with raspberry flavor, even if it is artificial. I'm scared there is still some tiny component of the real thing in there used to make the processed stuff. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't like to chance it.
