Hi, I want to make a strawberry pie soon, but I have a friend who does not eat sugar if he can help it. Has anyone ever tried substituting honey for sugar? What sort of ratio did you use?
thanks!

I used to do this all the time, but can't say that I ever did it for a Strawberry Pie. I can't see why it wouldn't work, though. This is what I have written down for substituting for sugar:

Sugar, granulated
1 c = 1 c corn syrup minus ¼ c liquid
1 c = 1 1/3 c molasses minus 1/3 c liquid
1 c = 1¾ c powdered sugar
1 c = 1 c honey minus ¼ c liquid

for those with a sugar in tolerance you can try a glucose free sugar thats a sugar but mix the pie with fresh strawberrys
and strawberry jam that shouldtake care of the sugar subsitute .
anyway best of luck
