With my kids playing VMK more than a couple times a week and it running on two sometimes three PCs at a a time in my house, I get pretty tired of the VMK sounds and music (except the tiki room, could listen to that one all day).

So what I do and probably many others is tune into Subsonic Radio or some other internet radio station when playing. It is actually really cool. All you need is Winamp or some other variant. Quicktime for you MACers.

Check out http://subsonicradio.com. They play eveything from movie music to complete audo ride throughs of your favorite rides.

My favorite is the Resort Tv recordings; you know the ones you watch when you finally get to put your feet up after a long day in the park, when the kids finally pass out and you are about too. I usually just dont have the energy to find the clicker and that is always the station they leave it on.

If you sign up you can even request songs from this guys HUGE library.
Click here to listen to the stream.

If you know any others let me know. This guy does a really good job.

Same situation here! We have four computers going on in the house playing vmk (each family member gets his/her own computer) and so I too know exactly what you mean about annoying sounds. I personally love:

www.live365.com

I have been listening to this station since a little over a year now and I simply adore it! You can do a search for Disney music and choose which station you want to listen to. You can sign up for free (or become a VIP member and pay) and save your presets (stations). I love the stations that play park music!

It was very nice to be up at 9:00 am and listen to the Main Street rope drop and then listen to the Main Street area music. Very uplifting!

I listen to Subsonic Radio all the time!! I am a huge fan! My favorite is listening to Space Ship Earth Attraction because I feel like I am right there.

Since we already have Itunes on our computers, we listen through the Itunes player, but also works with Winamp, Media Player, Music Match, etc.

I often request songs and play it at work in the background. I get a kick out of listening to the Monorail Speech......... :wizard:

If y'all would like to add another cool station to your list of internet radio this one is great too:
http://visionsfantastic.com/main.php?page=radio

You just click on either broadband or 56k once it opens and you can listen from the web page, no player needed. If you click on the "pop-up" button it will put a little window on your desktop and you can then surf anywhere without interupting it.

Silly Question: How do you turn of the sounds in just VMK?

To turn off the VMK sounds go to the Clothes change button and click sounds. :thumbsup2

I absolutely LOVE Subsonic Radio...especially since listeners can also request music/audio which makes it pretty unique.

Cool! I don't really listen to much Disney music. I do have quite a bit on my pc, but I never listen to it. I also don't listen to the sounds on VMK. I have it all turned off because it uses too much of my resources (and it get's annoying).

Usually the music I listen to is much different.
www.di.fm is my fave site. If you're into EDM, check it out. They also have Chillout, Lounge, Euro-Dance, Ambient, Breaks, Classical, New Age, Jazz, Top Hits, '80's, '70's, Reggae, Country, Salsa as well as Trance and more. :)
And it's all channels have winamp, accPlus and media player streams. :)

Can you tell I love them? lol :goodvibes

I listen to Sorcerer Radio and Subsonic Radio when I get sick of that weirdo robot teeling me he wants to be my friend.
Pretty cool!

Thanks for all the links!!
The Live365 stations are such poor quality for me. If you pay do you get better streams? (anyone know)

We ran a shoutcast station much like Subsonic for years. It was fun, I miss doing it.

Please message me if you find any others. I would appreciate it.

woot for radio disney live for free! if it wasnt for you i'd be bored like heck while studying!

Subsonicradio.com allows you to request your favorite tracks and his selection is MUCH greater then any live365 station.

Also the audio quality is so much better and it can be played in most mp3 players.

This was the same problem I had with live365. Plus, commercials cut in every couple of minutes, and then every 10-15 minutes of play, the whole thing would disconnect on me and I'd have to restart it. I got REALLY fed up with it. Subsonic is so much better (IMO). You can request tracks, the music/audio library is HUGE compared to any live365 station, and they only state the station name once every half hour (with no commercials) or something like that so the music/audio is continuous.

I have never had any problem with Live365 lol. I always listen to it and the sound quality for me is great! I have not listened to any other station and so I have nothing to compare to. However, I do get annoyed by the commercials and after listening to it for an hour, the songs start to repeat lol. But as far as the station itself, I have never been disconnected from the streaming (and I don't turn it off, I just turn the volume off when I leave the computer lol.) I think this particular window has been playing for three days now lol. I suppose I have a lucky computer! rofl!!!! (nah...because that would contradict vmk haha). But after hearing all these raves about Subsonic radio, I think I may have to give Live365 a break and try this site out! Who knows, after a year and a half I may convert! lol.

I guess it must have been something with my computer...live365 just never worked with mine. It was a bummer because sometimes I really wanted to check something out (with other stations, not just Disney related ones). My comp and the website never got along. lol

Live365 is one of the very few sites my computer agrees with! lol. I discovered they became friends and who was I to break that up? lol so I stuck with it! I think it is time for my computer to make a new friend though... lol.

From my experience with Live365 it depends what player you are using and what quality audio you select (or is autoselected).

I have the best luck with MP3 streams and I use an older version of Winamp to listen to them. To get this type of stream you select {Other} as type of player with Live365 then select the highest quality rate (assuming you have a broadband connection). Technically the Windows Media streams should be reliable and sound as good, but they don't on Live365, not sure why.

The commercials kill me. I understand there is a price for everything, but they are squeezing thier air time for every last penny.

After running my own Disney music inernet station for a long time, I really am impressed with the quality of both the content and presentation of Subsonic Radio. They just do a great job with it, hands down.

I have more than 14 hours worth of Disney content from our radio station days, and Subsonic blows that away.

I am so jelous...

How do you listen to the music on Subsonic radio? I have signed up and requested songs, but have no idea what to click to play the station! lol
