I have seen lots of people posting in Codes and Rates forum: Subscribing, or Just Subscribing!.

If you want to stay up to date with a thread, then do as follows:

Go to a specific thread, open it, click on thread tools located above the thread itself, click Subscribe to this Thread.

Hope this helps!

Nice try but I don't think it's working ;) :bounce:

Thanks! Just wanted to subscribe to a thread afew minutes ago but it seemed inappropriate due to the nature of the thread to post- Just Subscribing!
This tool will come in handy! :surfweb:

I guess i need to bump my own thread!.

When you post: Subscribing, Just subscribing, and so on...You just push the thread up on the the list, and people open the thread to get good news. They dont get any news at all, only a new post saying: Subscribing, Just subscribing!.

Just my 2,5 cents!.

I think some people post the words "Subscribing to this thread" to keep certain ones at the top of the page as well as to keep the thread active and popular in case any of the powers-that-be @ Disney are ever surfing through this website. For instance, a rate code watch for a certain month or timeframe...if it has "x" amount of replies by people wanting to book during that time, it would be clearly evident.

I long shot I know, but that's just my take on the whole thing. :)

Guess so! :goodvibes.

I still think, in most cases, that people is typing Subscribing/Just subscribing because they want an e-mail, so they dont miss out on codes.

The very same people then get tons of e-emails over a long period of time. Most of the time they open an e-mail from that specific thread they subscribed to, the new post just says, Subscribing/Just subscribing, no news and no code.

If they had used the forum tools, they would still have received e-mails from that specific thread. The new post would then reflect, hopefully, "real" information that they are actually looking fore.

Maybe Disney browse forums like the DIS to find out when to release a code, maybe not.

I think they release codes based on season and consumer reports and so on.

If WDW runs with low attendance, they are more likely to release codes, if not, they will release fewer codes through the year, making a few previous guests unhappy, but they will do what they think is good for their company, not what is good for us here at the DIS.
