Stupid TA Question

It should go in your 3-1-1 baggie. Better safe than sorry. I know they (TSA) wants chapstick in that baggie...I see no difference with lipstick.

Yep - it needs to go in the baggie. Any liquids, creams, or gels. Lipstick (unless it is a powder variety) counts as a cream. Creams are anything that you can smear.

Lipstick I left in my purse but lipgloss I put in the 3:1:1 bag. I have never had a problem.

Actually, solid lipstick is fine and doesn't need to go into your 3-1-1. Lip gloss or blistex-type lip balm does. Basically if it takes the shape of it's container (as in blistex) it goes in your 3-1-1 bag. If it keeps it's own shape (as in lipstick) it does not.

And, just to prove I'm not just making up the lipstick thing, this is from right when the TSA first announced the liquid ban (a search of the TSA site did not reveal any updates to lipstick):

Hmmm, first hand knowledge here??? :lmao:
I figure it's always better to be safe than sorry. Hence my original answer. Lipstick doesn't take up much space. Chapstick??? I've gone through security with it in my jeans pockets and had no issue. I was somewhat surprised to get through and find it in there.

No - I always have several lipsticks and lipgloss in my purse, and have never had a problem. If it's solid like that or deodorant, it is fine.

Also, any medicine doesn't count. I always have a large (gallon size) bag of many meds, both otc and prescription, and they are fine. There is no limit on medicine.

Didn't I read recently that they are doing away with these restrictions in April or so?

Thanks - guess I can put my regular lipstick in my purse and my lipgloss in the my baggie.

Sorry, esteemed moderator, the foreigners are siding together here.
