Is there any easy way to clean my glasses if I have no windex? They are icky and driving me nuts. I've tried to clean them on my clean shirt, to no avail. :(

What else will clean glass? Forgive me for asking stupid questions... seizures (or the aftermath) tends to give memory loss and it sucks!!

Sometimes when real bad my family members will use dish soap, then dry with a paper towel.

Try this: place a drop of dishwashing liquid on each side of your DRY glasses. Rub in well with your finger, then rinse :thumbsup2 under cool running tap water. Dry with a paper towel. Works perfect.

I always clean mine by running them under hot water and wiping with a paper towel. I use Viva paper towels just because they are so soft and don't scratch my glasses.

Thanks guys! I hardly got any sleep last night, and I do indeed have memory loss from 3 seizures just this year (10 over a 17 year period). Each seizure, the memory loss gets worse, and I end up asking the most SIMPLE questions, which ticks me off because I should know the answer.

I was going to do the dish soap and was worried running (I am tired, so cut me some slack) them under water, might make the lens pop out *lol*.

I always just soap my hands and then rub the lenses. I will then, using warm water, first rinse my hands and then rinse the glasses. Finally I will dry the glasses with either a clean fluffy towel or a paper towel.

You will not pop the lenses out unless you are using very hot water and if thast happens you can just pop themn in again. All rubbing, both when washing and drying, should be gentle.

Screen and/or keyboard cleaning fluid or wet wipes/baby wipes. Then use a damp cloth or paper napkin.:thumbsup2

I use clarifying shampoo and hot water. I tend to get hairspray on mine, so the shampoo works really well.

I never use paper towels as they will scratch the lenses. Use only a soft cloth.

Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2 I often forget about it...

I never use commercial window cleaner or paper products to clean my glasses. Usually my damp bath towel (after taking a shower or washing hands) does a pretty good job of cleaning them - don't use it when it's too damp though or you get streaks.

If they are really grimy I would use less than a drop of dish soap, like just enough to smudge on your fingertip, while holding the glasses under running water. Dry with a soft towel.

My eye doctor told me NEVER EVER EVER use Windex/other window cleaning products on eyeglass lenses. EVER. It will take off the UV coating or some such.

I always use water and soap. That seems to keep them fairly clean despite everything I get on them.;)

NEVER use paper towels to clean your glasses!!!

I used to work in a lens lab and then worked as an optician. Paper towels are the number one cause of scratches on glasses. Plain water and a soft cloth works well. Also, never use nail polish remover - especilly if you have polycarbonate lenses. If the nail polish remover gets on the edges, it can crack your lenses.

For very fine scratches, you can spray some Pledge on each lens. Rub gently with your fingers and polish off with a soft cloth. The wax in the Pledge fills in the scatches and leaves them almost like new.

HTH!!

Wow! Thanks for the info!! Mucho appreciated. I got them cleaned! No more looking through fog! Yeah!!
