Stupid question--How many towels?

A friend is renting points and staying at DVC for the first time. I have only stayed with DH and can't answer this very simple question: How many towels, and what size, will she get in a 1 bedroom for 2 adults and 2 kids?

That is one of the drawbacks of DVC. Long ago we had a survey, members didn't like subsidizing the habits of other members. So back in '97, they instituted the new policy. Each unit will get one set of towels containing one washcloth, one face towel and one larger towell. Families that need more will pay $6 per set.

Don't even get me started on the blanket thing, sheesh, you would think that we would get a blanket for every bed!!!!!

A 1BR will have 4 bath towels, 4 washcloths and 2(?) hand towels- regardless how many are staying in the room. (If there is only 1 person, the same supply will be there.)

If more towels are desired- an extra set (as described aove) is available for $6.

Enlighten me on the blanket issue.

Are you telling me we don't get a blanket for the sofa bed?

I must be misunderstanding, Richyams. I think that DH and I always have had more than that. I believe we had 2 cloths, 2 hand and 4 bath for the 2 of us in a studio in April. I could be remembering wrong...

Don't mind me, I just always love the chance to be the first one to answer "stupid questions".

The blanket thing is a hassle, we once had to buy three towel sets to use as blankets for the pull out.

There will be a blanket for each bed and there will be 3 pillows on the King bed and 2 more for the sofabed. (Blanket and pillows for the sofabed will be in the closet.)

Since Rich never stays in a 1BR, he isn't really sure what is supplied! I'm sure he was describing the GV he usually reserves!

I have thin blood( I freeze all the time) and always requested an extra blanket....it's been brought up each visit without a problem....

Here is one of my little pet peeves in the studios & one bedroom units - four bath towels, four washclothes & ONLY TWO HAND TOWELS. If the unit accomodates four people & if you get four bath towels & four washclothes, then why can we not get four hand towels? I know we have a washer & dryer in the one bedroom, but four people should each get their own hand towel for their personal use.

Actually Doc, there are 4 pillows on the King Bed and 3 decorative toss pillows. There is no blanket for the pack and play. But, no worries, kids sleep hotter than adults.

Are there dish towels (for the kitchen) provided in the 1 bdrms and larger?

I had this same question about a 2BR and the # of towels.

I was pleasantly surprised that we actually got 9 sets of towels for 7 people (however, only 4 or 5 hand towels-but it didn't matter because I washed towels every day). Housekeeping also left and extra set on T & T day, to my surprise. Shh. Don't tell anyone. But I did appreciate it.

We also got 2 dish towels in the kitchen.

We just got back a few days ago from a 1 br at OKW. We had 4 complete sets of hand towels, bath towels and wash cloths. Two sets hanging in the shower area and 2 sets hanging in the tub area. There were no dish towels in the kitchen, only paper towels, 3 rolls.

sometimes you need to call for the dishtowels and pot holders.

when at OKW in April, we got ONE hand towel for 4 of us in a Studio. We got TWO handtowels for the 1 bdr., but 4 regular towels and washcloths. When DH brought it up in conversation with Mgr., he was told each room is to have 4 sets of towels. Hopefully, housekeeping has changed their set up to reflect this. I know I mentioned it during a post-visit survey. (I've got two little ones and they often leave more dirt on the towel than what they rinse off! Sorry, don't want to dry my hands or face with that!!!! )
