We are thinking about cancelling our Park Hopper option on our tickets to save money. We have bought these in the past and never really used the Park Hopper option. It will save us about $225. Question... Once you enter a park, if you want to leave for a while, you are allowed back in the same park on the same day. Right???

The first year we went to WDW we had the park hoppers. When we got back from vacation we realized we never even used the hoppers. We pick one park a day. You can leave and come back to the same park as many times as you wish. I guess it depends on your family but we save the money and skip the hoppers now.

You are allowed back into the same park, but if you're going during a peak crowd week, you may not get in if a park closed due to capacity. This happens rarely, but is a consideration at certain times (Easter, Christmas, etc.)

If you are staying ONsite then there is no worries with overcrowded actually.....you are "somehow" in the count.....

The park hopper option is flat rate, so IF you are gonna use it, get it early rather than late in your visit....you CAN always add it....
We LOVE the hopper, but we're a family that will go thru 3 parks in a day to hit all our favs and then run around like crazy (not the dh though) ....there are certain parks we spend ALL day at (MK, my FAV!) BUT we always book out of HS and AK for some reason......
so, figure out your "style" of travel.
Have a great trip whatever you decide! :wizard:
And yes, you can return, be sure to follow rules (is it still a hand stamp??:confused3)

Actually, it is possible to get closed out, even if staying on property. It is rare, but it can happen. I was there once when it happened about 2 years ago.

We got PH's on our first trip and did use them, but haven't gotten them since. We haven't missed them, but I am considering getting them for our upcoming trip. I am still on the fence. It just depends on how crazy we want to get - commando-style or low-n-slow... Decisions, decisions... :goodvibes

We always get the park hoppers, but then again... we start off at the park with early magic hours and leave during the early afternoon, have lunch take a dip in the pool and then hit the park with the late magic hours at about 5 or so.:woohoo:

Guess it really depends on how you are planning your trip and what your family wants to do.

We always get hoppers and most days go to atleast 2 parks. If youdo not have hoppers you may enter one park that day, all day long, but only that same park.

This is what we are planning on doing, but I am not sure if we can pull it off. How is your fatigue level? I am concerned that it might be too much for our boys.

We have always purchased the park hopper option just to have the option to change things up. We like to get up early and hit one park. By mid-afternoon we head back to the resort for a swim or rest before we head out to another park.

However, if you plan out your days (including dining & extra magic hours) you may not even miss the park hopper. You can always return to the same park during that day.

For me it depends on ADRs. for example, this year we had 2 ADRs at DHS but didn't want to spend 2 days there, so the hoppers were needed. We also had BBB at MK for DNiece and ADR for Akershus the same day. I know we could have done BBB at DTD but wanted the extra feeling of magic having it done at the castle!

It does cost a lot more for PH. It all depends on your family. How long are you going for? We have our long trip in Sept that I have PH and Waterpark, but I also have a tentative 6 day Dec trip booked and instead of adding PH, I'm going to by a 10 day basic pass. It only costs an extra $50 for our whole family and if we want to jump to another park we can just use up one of the extra 4 days. That might work for you.

without park hopper you can get back into the same park each day on the same ticket:thumbsup2
park hoppers good IF you pick a place to eat that is in another park but with careful planning can avoid that easy enough. For what you spend on those for not much more can buy Annual pass without water parks but with park hopper options and is good for whole year (if your thinking of a return trip within the year best deal):cheer2:

We have always had PH in the past and I have found we rarely use them. this trip we are saving the $$ and just getting the basic tickets. We just pick a park for the day and stay with it. My ADR's are planned according to our park days. The over $200 saved will pay for our refillable mugs and our photopass. :thumbsup2

Sorry, :( but you can't do this, unless you have a separate hard ticket with the extra 4 days on it (which is highly unlikely). Once the non-PH ticket is scanned at a particular park, it will only allow (re-)entry into that same park, not another.

Are you positive? I've haven't tried it before, but when I explained it to my TA she said it would work. :confused3 I'll have to send off an email to Disney just to double check. That would be bad if I was counting on that and it didn't work when we get there.

Yup, just googled it and your right becky11  And here I was all proud of myself that I had found a loophole, even had my TA convinced it would work ... oh well.

Yes, you are correct. And if you don't know the answer, a question is never stupid.:thumbsup2
