If someone purchases in May 2004 (like I did) does not take the pkg of holding pts option to bring $ down, when do the points become avail if use year is Sept.
I thought we'd get our first points in Sept. & those would be considered our 2005 pts. avail to use until Sept 2005. ( I do understand banking by Feb etc.), now as I'm making ressies it appears that I have more points avail than I thought. I know I have to ask my MS but, I've been trying to figure this out.

heres the run down
Purchased 270 pts in May 2004.
made first ressies on pts Dec 2004 - for July 2005 = 205 pts
then more ressies on pts Dec 2004 - for Nov 2005 = 310 pts
then banked remaining pts. (I think about 25pts.)

So I guess, basically my question is does the first use year start when you buy your points or when your use year starts. For me May or Sept???

With a September UY your first points should have come available on 9/1/04. Looks like your points should go something like this:

2004: 205 used for 7/05 reservation. 65 banked into 2005.
2005: 65 banked points + 245 current year points used for 11/05 reservation. 25 banked into '06.*

The 25 points you've banked into '06 should be valid for any stay between 9/1/06 and 8/31/07.

*You might want to check on these "banked" points. I didn't realize you could bank points so early. Your '05 UY won't even start for over 6 months.

It would be a good idea to check what use year points have been banked. If you have banked your remaning sept 2004 points into 2005 then they would have to be used by sept 2006. If you have done this then simply ask them to resuffle your points to use the banked points first. This way you are free to bank 25pts from 2005 to 2006 when the time comes. I have done this and it does not effect your reservation at all.
