Stupid MCO pick-up questions. Sorry.

I am at WDW now and am picking up family at MCO on 4/27/10. They are arriving on a Side A airline. I am going to wait in the cell phone lot for their arrival. It is easier to get to Side B than to Side A from the place I will be waiting. When they exit the tram into the terminal, can they just go to Side B? Also, is it best to pick them up on the ticketing level (Level 3), since they will have no checked baggage? I have flown into MCO many, many times but I am just dumb about this kind of stuff. TIA for help.

Sure. When they get off the tram, from their gate, they can just walk over to Side B. The two 'sides' are joined together on level 3..where the trams empty.
I can't help much as to the best area for pickup. I would imagine that there must be an area, at the arrivals area, where you can just drive up and grab them...most airports do that.

Thanks. I will tell them to go out one of the doors on Side B, on the same level that the tram enters the terminal. They can call me in the cell phone lot to let me know what door they are at. I appreciate the quick response! :thumbsup2

I picked up friends of ours a few weeks ago. I just drove through the A side arrivals and looked for the name of their airline. It was really easy to follow the signs. I also waited in the cellphone lot but realized that my phone wasn't working so I just drove back to the airport and found them waiting.

Good luck! It was much easier than I expected!

Note that the curb is divided into car areas, bus areas, taxi areas, etc. alternating. Be sure your party is waiting at a car area, otherwise when you arrive you may be forced to glide by to the next car area and your party will have to chase after you.

I don't remember how Orlando is laid out but in Boston, the car area is on a(n unfenced) median instead of against the building so you have to know which set of lanes to drive up in.

Wow. Thanks for this tip. I will be heading to the airport before long. When my sister calls I will tell her to be sure she is standing near a "car" area.

Whenever I am being picked up at an airport, I always give the person who is picking me up, explicit info about where I am standing. I give them info about any particular signage or such..makes it a lot easier.

If they go to the baggage claim level on the B side it will be easiest. When they cross the the a side, they'll go down the escalators and straight out the doors. The doors are all numbered, so it will be easy for them to tell you where they are. The pick-up zone is directly outside the doors, not on the median. Just a word of warning if the people you are picking up are NOT smokers - this area is covered and it seems there are a lot of smokers. I'm not overly sensitive to smoke, but I ended up having to go back inside.
