Once I place an order, I should never look for it again! Ordered lego hogwarts for DS, and was happy with a price of 122. Of course today, it was 118! I thought the initial price was about as low as they would go because it said two day toy sale under the item. Their constant price fluctuations drive me crazy. Almost as bad as rental car companies and airlines! :lmao:

I believe Amazon.com has a computer program that controls their prices. I've watched items in my cart change price 4, 5 even 6 times in single day - both up and down by as little as a couple of cents and as much as several dollars. Very odd.

I have come to the conclusion that they have a computer program constantly monitoring stock, the number in carts or purchased, and other's prices making adjustments throughout the day.

I've got no problem with it because they do have very good prices and the price of an item seems just as likely to go up as it does down. It's just weird watching prices fluctuate during the day...

You have to look at the seller as well. If it was Amazon who sold and fulfilled the order, then you can contact them to do a price adjustment.

If it was sold through another party then what you are "probably" seeing is that the one you bought was through one party and now another party has the same item for less.

It's just $4. Skip one thing this week and make it up. I don't like price flux either, but it will drive you nuts trying to always get the best price. As long as you do well most of the time, then you're good.

I just bought my granddaughter a radio flyer wagon from Amazon. It went up in price by $10 from one day to the next! Yikes! Still, with free shipping and no tax, it was cheaper than getting it anywhere else. Hate the inconsistencies but it is what it is. Just know that Amazon is not always the cheapest any more.

Oh I know, it's only $4, and I am not going to stress too much about it, it is just annoying! And like I said, I was happy with the price to begin with, cheaper than anyplace else.

I think their "program" is really even smarter than that. I have no proof, but I think they monitor how often you look at a product to judge your interest and if you show great interest in a product, they raise the price. I've often looked at a product several times and the price went up, then I won't look for a while and the price will go back down again.
