Stuffed or unstuffed?

Both.

Cooked properly, you'll never have an issue with contamination, and there is nothing better than moist stuffing.

But we have 1 person who is vegeterian, and 1 with an allergy to turkey, so we do a side dish of stuffing in the oven too. They eat a Quorn Turk'y roast.........tried that last year instead of Tofurkey, both say the Quorn fake turkey is much better.

I prefer unstuffed, but I love the crunchiness of the top bit when the pan is put under the broiler for a few minutes. :)

Inside the bird is my preference- I don't worry about getting sick. Then again, I eat rare beef, runny eggs and raw cookie dough too!

This year we aren't having a "Whole turkey" since my mother in law is sick and can't cook, we are all bringing the meal to her. My brother in law is doing a hotel breast in his rotisserie and I'm in charge of the stuffing... aka dressing because it will be outside the bird. Tips for keeping it moist and delicious please!!

It really is no problem keeping dressing moist. I see some here seem to think that it is dry, if you do it right it isn't. Just add enough broth I use stock that I purchase I use the pan drippings from the bird, you won't have that so just really make it wet from chicken stock. Mine is soup before I bake it and it is VERY moist when I pull it out. I also hear people don't like the crunchy top. to avoid this just don't take the lid off and you don't get crunch.

Stuffed. I've always stuffed the bird, as did my mother before me, and her mother before her.

Two of us are still alive.

:rotfl:I won't ask what happened to the third. ;)

We always make dressing not stuffing. The women of my family have never stuffed the bird with things we'd eat. It is normally stuffed with onions, carrots, herbs, etc.

No matter whether you make stuffing or dressing, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. :)

DH stuffed the cavity with apples, onions, some cinnamon sticks, parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme.

The stuffing he makes in a separate pan.

Now I want turkey and stuffing, but we won't get that until Christmas here.

I always stuff the turkey and have the extra in a casserole pan. The stuffing from the turkey is the best.
