Stuffed Celery

Stuffed Celery was a traditional holiday appetizer at parties when I was growing up.

Olives (with pimentos) were chopped up, mixed in softened cream cheese, and spread into celery. It was very festive with the red and green and white.

I was going to prepare some to take to a party tonight, but DH informed me that it's actually a very weird combination and I'd be embarassed if I brought it.

When you need an opinion, who do you call? The DIS! What do you think about stuffed celery?

I LOVE stuffed celery and don't think it's a weird combination at all! MEN! Don't listen to him---bring your stuffed celery--I'm sure everyone will love it.

I don't like celery at all, so I wouldn't eat it. My SIL loves stuffed celery.

If your dh wants a weird food combinatin, I love to eat Reece's Cups and have a tomato juice chaser with them.

I love stuffed celery. You could also put this spread on little rye bread rounds if you wanted.

I love stuffed celery........it was always on the table at my mom's for Thanksgiving when I was younger. Now it is on mine for special days. Even sometimes when I get the munchies and have the ingredients in the house I make it just for me and DD.

Suffed Celery always takes me back to my childhood Christmas and Christmas Eve in my house. My mother always made it. Go ahead and take it, you just may make someone else remember the good old days of their childhood!

Take it. Another good combo is cream cheese, spinach and walnuts.

I normally stuff celery with bleu cheese and cream cheese. I may have to give your recipe a try as something different.

I am boring and just have the celery with just the cream cheese. But if it was brought it to a party I would try it!

For those who want to try it, we usually pour a little of the olive jar juice into the room temp cream cheese. It adds a little salty flavor and thins the cream cheese out even more.

One of DS's favorites and a holiday must in our house is celery stuffed with pineapple cream cheese....yum!

I like peanut butter too.....but not for a party

I love stuffed celery! My mom always makes 3 kinds; plain cream cheese; pimento and cream cheese (its a pretty pink color!); and chopped black olives and cream cheese. Yum Yum!

We always had stuffed celery growing up every Sunday at my grandfather's house and holidays (still make it on holidays). We chop up the olives and mix them with cream cheese and finely diced/minced garlic. Very yummy!

Our stuffed celery always had peanut butter in it, but these other variations sound great too!

We're going to be watching Christmas movies tonight with the kids... introducing them to "White Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life." Guess what we'll be having as snacks?

These all sound so good and I have all of the ingredients at home already.
