Stuff not on Room Service Menu

This is somewhat off topic but -- what do you do with the dirty plates and left over food from room service? Leave them in the room? Put them in the hall? How quickly do they come to take them away?

Thanks.

If it's breakfast, then we leave it in the room and the stateroom host takes it away when he/she cleans the room. Any other time we put it in the hall when we are done.

....or you can call room service when you are done and they will come by and pick them up.

Your stateroom host will not always remove them (especially if there is still any food left on the plates).

Is there a general rule of thumb for tipping for room service?

How much would you tip for 4 Mikey Bars?

Also, has anyone ever ordered room service and asked them to just leave it in the empty room? The day we leave is my son's 8th birthday. I'm going to sneak in and decorate the room at 1:30 while he is swimming. It would be cool if I could order a piece of cake or Rice Krispie Mickey and have them leave it in the room for him. :bday:

Bumping up to hopefully have others put in their two cents!!! Anything else out there that you received from room service that wasn't on the menu??

This is an old thread and I skimmed it quickly, but didn't see Mickey Head Rice Krispy Treats listed. I apologize if it was already mentioned on this thread. You can order them dipped in chocolate or plain.

They are "free" through room service or you can buy a box of the exact same thing at the concession stand by the movie theater for around $11.

When we cruised in March and called room service, we were told they do not offer Mickey Rice Krispy bars. When I mentioned we had gotten them on our last cruise, we were put on hold and then asked how many. They brought two chocolate dipped and two plain. I wondered if they just opened one of the boxes for sale at the theater. :)

Interesting...the ones in the boxes do not have sticks, but the ones from room service did. Plus, I don't think you can get plain ones in the box. I wonder if they are just extras from the CC reception and they only send them in room service if they know they'll have extras.

I too cruised this past March and we ordered them about three times from room service and they always just brought them right up to our room. I asked that they be dipped in chocolate and so we never received any plain ones.

We assumed it was just an uniformed crew member, but didn't worry about it since they did come through! We actually never ate them all as we were always so full onboard and they made great snacks for our post cruise visit to WDW.

I haven't tried ordering them through room service, but you can get chicken wings around 7:00 at Diversions along with nachos and hot dogs. They were so yummy!

Do you pay for food at Diversions? Or just the drinks? I am confused as to when you are sitting at a bar or club if you can get food for free or not. Thanks

When we were at Diversions as early as 4, there was a hot bar of food for happy hour and it was complimentary.

Is there any where else to get Mickey Bars on the ship or is it only by room service or at the sit downs?
TIA!

This is not what I found when I was on the magic in 2008. I asked for mickey rice crispy treats from room service and they told me I couldn't get them. I could buy them at the concession stand but it wasn't open since I was calling before we left on an excursion. I was told "no" on this cruise more than any other. I was bummed since I love me some crispy treats.

Some one mentioned mozzerella sticks and chicken wings.....can you get these from room service? What about a sandwich like ham, cheese and pickles....will they make this for you?

Great info.
May I ask:

So if you had to make a list of "must have to eat" while on board what would be on your list and location of item (4 day on the wonder)

What type of snacks should I bring for DD3- She loves pop-cornpopcorn::, furit snacks and chips and DH loves oreo cookies- Can I get these on board or bring my own?

What would be your stay away from food list

What be on you pre-order for your shhh!!!! excursion food list

What is the best way to get a little taste of most everything

I have read so much about this cheese platter, whats the rage about... Is it a cost with it. Any place I can get chocolate covered strawberries on a 4-day (wonder Bahamas trip)

Thanks for helping the "greedy girl out"

What about Sushi??? Do they have it anywhere on the ship?? Can it be ordered from Room Service???

Just Dreaming!!!

Another DCL contradiction :rolleyes1

When I was on the Magic in 2008 for the EB Panama Canal cruise (2 years ago today!!!), I went to the concessions stand to buy a box of mickey head rice krispy treats. The crew member working the concessions stand told me to save my money and order them from room service. That's when I first found out about them.

Yeah, I probably should have called back and hoped for a different answer but I didn't have time and then I figured I couldn't get them. I will ask again when I sail the Wonder and the Dream next year.
