Stuff not on Room Service Menu

Boy, I never know you could call room service that early. I always though you had to wait till all the luggage was taken care of, cause they need all the hand they can get to take care of that.
Glad to know this, but I sure won't tell my DD. She keeps them busy enough after 7p.m..

Uncrustables? I love them. Last time we ordered a PBJ it was a triple decker, guess it's been a while.

I call room service and the phone is answered by a sweet lady who immediately says "Good afternoon Mr. Barth are you ready for your Mickey Bar?":rotfl: Hmm, I guess they were expecting him:upsidedow

I thought that was only us, Andrew do you want your daily Mickey bars, 4 for the family? all hands on deck, and does Stephen want his cheeseburger with extra extra Ketchup?

The stateroom hosts/hostesses take care of the luggage so they are busy all afternoon. Room Service CMs are not involved in that process so they are free to go about their regular duties.

DS always likes to order grilled cheese sandwhiches. They are triple deckers and he loves them.

As to when can you order the cheese platter--any time after you can get into your room (1:30) they will take orders. Sometimes they are out of something and cannot bring it to you unitl all the deliveries are on the ship. DS has twice been told he was the first call to room sevice (he is generally on that phone at 1:31 getting Mickey Bars:rotfl: )

Ooooh, this is the first I have heard about the grilled cheese! I am definitely going to try that!:goodvibes

They're good (I like grilled cheese too--I'm pretty much a big kid myself:rotfl: ). DS is super picky (doesn't eat normal things like burgers, hot dogs or french fries even) so these were a life saver with him on board for two solid weeks:)

I had the best BLT I've had in a long time in December. I recommend it highly! I'm not a big buffet person so glad I can order it when I get into my cabin on the trip in May instead of rushing to the welcome aboard buffet.

Thanks for the grilled cheese tip. My dd is also very picky. She will love the grilled cheese option. Are they normally hot when they get to your room or cold? On CCL they were cold when they made it to the room. She still ate it, but didn't love it.

Oh dear, there is so much to learn.

I did look at the room service menu in a sticky somewhere BUT couldn't tell if everything but the packages was actually free, as in included in cruise price or what?
I am a total newbie here and need to figure this stuff out before I take two teenagers and two good eating toddlers on this ship!

Can't have the teens ordering things not already included and my oh my what my little ones would do it they thought they could order a mickey bar up by themselves!

And speaking of DCL food, how do you get soda for free when not at a sit down meal? something about deck nine but not at the other restaurants? confused. any help so appreciated!

Let's see if I can help.

Everything, except the packages (usually listed on the right side of the menu) are included, no extra charge (except for a small tip for the room service CM).

Mickey bars from room service are also no extra charge (again, except for a small tip).

There is a drink station near the Mickey Pool on deck 9 that has soda, coffee, hot water for tea, etc. Again, no extra charge. If you order anything (including soda) from the bars or lounges, there is a charge plus an automatic 15% gratuity.

If you have any other questions, ask away.

Soda IS free at sit down meals. You only pay for it when it comes from room service. In that case, you send your kids up to deck nine to fill er up while you wait for your food!

So say my kids want to get a sandwhich or a hotdog or burger or something like that from one of the fast food kind of places on Deck 9 I guess? Can they order soda then or is it always self serve with those places? and topsiders?

and never mind the kids, Mommy has a Diet Coke addiction! :rotfl:

Deck 9 sodas are only self serve, as is Topsiders. The quick serve food stands only have food, no drinks.

The Mickey Bars! Love those things.

I get those and the Oatmeal Raisin cookies, which are on the menu.

DH loved the oatmeal raisin cookies. He had me order some and a big glass of milk. :rotfl2:
Of course I ordered chocolate chip and a mickey bar.:rolleyes1 DD didn't want the Mickey bar so I kept eating them. Sometimes I don't know where she came from. How could any kid of mine not like Mickey bars? :confused3 :mickeybar

And yes, you can order a hamburger and french fries at 8 a.m.! DD decided she didn't want to go to topsiders one morning because she couldn't get a hamburger for breakfast. I looked at DH and he said "Well call room service. You've harped on her all week about not eating. She wants to eat. They'll make her a burger." Sure enough, we had a hamburger and fries in record time. :thumbsup2 Gotta love room service.

If you plan on taking the Uncrustables (big tip here) on an excursion, be sure to ask for them to NOT put it in the microwave before delivering them to you. I ordered them (the night before going off ship, to take with us) and they were pretty messy the next day. I learned a big lesson. But, they were still good and tasty!:thumbsup2

y husband loves chicken wings!! Can we get them from room service? If not, can we get them anywhere?

I haven't tried ordering them through room service, but you can get chicken wings around 7:00 at Diversions along with nachos and hot dogs. They were so yummy!
