Please help!! We just booked a BCV studio and my husband is having "lack of supply" panic! We have 3yr twins and are scared of not having the full kitchen. For such a quick trip I felt the frig and coffee maker were all we needed now he's making me panic! Can we not pick up small Dixie bowls and milk for cereal and/or bagels and be happy? Are utensils needed too? Can anyone help this studio frenzy?

and had no problem with the "mini" kitchen. They actually provide some paper bowls/plates. I think we picked up some plastic spoons and forks. Anyway, while our DS is 8 and we had no little, little ones, we were fine. When traveling to other cities when DS was an infant/toddler, we'd try to book all-suite hotels for the mini-fridge and microwave and that always worked out well. The DVC studios have pretty much the same set-up with the fridge, coffee-maker and microwave...maybe more cabinet space in the kitchenette. I think you'll be fine!!!

there will be a small supply of paper bowls, cups, plates and plastic utensils in the studio (usually service for four).

we were in a studio last june with ds (age 2) and found it more than adequate :)

We are DVC members and most of our stays are in a studio (we get more vacation time this way). We have two DDs ages 11 and 16. The studio is perfect for us. We eat breakfast in our room nearly every day. Just bring along some plastic utensils and a package of paper plates and you will be fine. There is also a microwave and a toaster. If you feel you need to "cook" do you have an electric skillet? Bring that along with you.

I wouldn't worry at all, nor would I hesitate to stay in a studio with 2 three year olds (and I do know what I am talking about with 3 yr olds.. I am a 3 yr old preschool teacher ;) ).

Relax it will be great.

Thanks so much!!!! My fears have been calmed-now onto my DS! That's great about the toaster and maybe I can even "borrow" utensils from the galley!?! Thanks again!

studios are great!!!

you shouldn't have any problems.

your husband probably wants the king bed in the master in a 1-bedroom and being able to shut the door between him and the kids.....

the only problem might be the glasses - there are 4 big glasses and 2 mugs - both pretty heavy for kids - so I would bring their own plastic glasses.

you will get at least 4 paper plates and bowls (you could get more - so check before you buy any) - 4 plastic knives, yorks and spoons.

toaster, coffee maker, mirowave - plus the wet bar and refrigerator.

their is a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.

if you intend to stay late at the parks and the kids are sleeping on the sofa - make sure you put it down before you leave.

I stay in a studio for part of our 2 week trip in June with 3 children (12, 8, and 7). We're always excited when we get to our 1 bedroom villa for the second part of our trip, but we make out just fine in the studio. I used to take all these extra supplies, but now I just pick them up in the snack bar. When we go through for something I always pick up a few extra plastic utensils, paper plates, bowls. I even get those sugar packs from there if I need them for cereal. You probably could get these things by calling housekeeping.

We just returned from a studio stay at OKW. When we were running low on utensils I just called housekeeping. I very politely asked if it was possible to get additional utensils and maybe some more bowls. When we returned from the park that evening there were more than enough stocked in the cabinet.

:D

We have stayed in both a studio and a one-bedroom. We would be fine in a studio except for dh's snoring. Other than that, unless you are planning on cooking a lot, the studio is terrific. It's perfect for breafast and snacks in your room. My dd and I will be in one at BCV in June...just the girls this time. Tell your dh to stop obsessing...you'll be fine.

Jennyvelaz-We are actually in the same situation. We have the BCV booked at the end of January. We have a daughter just over 2 years old, who is into everything! We also have a 6 month old son, who is pretty easy at this age. We were actually down in Disney about 4 weeks ago. We booked an offsite 2 bedroom condo, and I spent the whole time chasing after my daughter! :earseek: I'm looking forward to keeping her in a more contained area. I'm sure that the fridge and microwave will be enough for us. We will have the luxury of having a minivan, since we will be driving down. So we can bring down bowls, cereal and other supplies with us.

I hope that it works out for you all. Good luck, and have a great trip! :)
