Studio July 4 to 8 - what are my chances?

Just wanting to go to the world on a whim

What are my chances for a studio, say in AKV or OKW?

I don't know the exact breakdown of studios per resort but I would think at this point you would have a better chance at OKW for 2 reasons.

1. AKV hasn't declared all the new Kidani units into inventory yet so there are many studios that aren't available for booking at this point.
2. The new units in Kidani that are open are pretty much booked solid for the summer months as everyone wants to get first dibs at the new resort which opens May 1st. Its possible they will declare more inventory between now and July but I wouldn't want to leave that to chance with only 2 months before your desired travel time.

In 12-18 months I don't think it will be a problem getting one at either resort, but for the short-term OKW or SSR is probably the better bet.

just to give you guys an update - they had availability, but it involved moving around, like bwv pref view (akv jambo sav view also available) for july 4/5 and then okw for 6/7.

i have to borrow points for this possible trip as we are already going in october so i had to be more certain we were going before i booked it. the cm i spoke to told me that there was still a bit more availability as long as i was willing to move around. of course i know that as soon as i hung up the phone, availability would have already changed...

ah, what to do! this was not planned, but i miss the world. i'm even willing to do a no-parks trip, but i really really really wanna go!

Was the OKW studio available for all of the nights, or did you really have to move around because no resort had all of the nights? I hope you get to go. We've been members since '03 and I remember once we hemmed and hawwed and eventually did make a 2 night visit, stayed at OKW, went to a MNSSHP and had a great great time!!!

no, unfortunately, okw was not available for all nights.

Did you try SSR? I know it wasn't among your original choices but lots of times when I've called last minute SSR has had rooms even when OKW didn't.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you and you get to go without too much craziness. Oh wait, we're talking about going to Disney on a whim - all of our friends think I'm crazy because I'm constantly trying to figure out how to stretch my points and get 1 more trip in.

I'm addicted and I need my Disney fix - often!

Confirmed! We're booked at VWL from 7/5-7/9. There was also SSR and AKV available, but I didn't want to get AKV as we are going to be there in October.

Great, you have squeezed in another vacation before your trip ticker! I love VWL, that's where we're staying in December, (and January for the marathon weekend!).
