Completely!Middleschool student governments are not my friend. At my school, its a popularity contest.
The student government isn't worth one's time. All they do (at my school, at least) is decide what to do for Spirit Week and supervises events (dances mainly).
If you are planning on running, though, I suggest having a few friends run for different offices (You run for president, friend A runs for vice, friends B and C run for senators, etc.). Make it clear that you all represent a group that supports fascism.
I guarantee you will all be elected. The mob will be all for some radical bhoys/ghirls in office seeing as though it isn't serious. Trust me.
)Completely!
The student government here does very little besides fundraising and planning spirit events. Last year, there was a group of people who did the group election thing, and they did win. They called it "Bull Mouse." (First off, that's not even an original name, and second, i am pretty sure that the Bull Moose Party [the real one] lost.)
I essentially want it because it counts as leadership for NHS and everything. I am the kind of person that would actually try to do good with that kind of job though. I doubt that I'd have much of a problem getting eleted though. You usually have only one opponent, and there are a lot of people that would vote for me.

We have the Student council...which there is Pres. VP Sec. and Treasurer..They do homecoming and dances and things like that. We also have class officers which is pretty much the stundent council for individual games. There we have the same as listed above and then we also have two reps. added. I am a representative for my junior class. I like being on council, but my class sucks at everything b/c no one ever helps w/ anything and not to mention our class is officially the most poor class of all of them. But it is fun at times. Good luck running.

We are the poorest class also, and we need money because it's prom year.
At our school, you have to actually be repected. As a joke, the absolute worst candidate in our year, this absolute slob, ran and got elected last year because people thought it would be funny. (I'm proud to have voted for someone else.) Anyway, he squandered our class money and we ammended the school Constitution to get him impeached and thrown out of office.
We definitely learned our lesson about joke-elections.
