We were looking at getting the Maclaren Triumph for our trip to DW but I see that the weight limit is 40 pounds. Well my son weighs 34 pounds now and I don't really want a stroller that will only last a little bit. Anyone have any suggestions for a lightweight umbrella style stroller that holds a larger child? Or am I just worrying to much and the Mac will be just fine?

What year is it? '05 and '06 Macs are all rated to 55lbs. Macs are the best for this reason as you get a longer life span out of it. Most other strollers are rated 40 - 45lbs, so Macs are great for larger or older children. Very sturdy and a dream to steer!

By the way, if you are getting the '40lbs.' info from baby websites, most of them are incorrect. I have emailed a ton of baby websites, as well as Mac, and even copied Mac's weight guidelines and sent that to them, but most online baby vendors still have incorrect weight limits when speaking of Macs. Just email Mac, or look at the manual in the store, and they will clearly state up to 55lbs.

We love our Triumph! Tiger

We got the Quest because it had a deeper seat so it was more comfortable for DS. It is rated to 55lbs. princess:

I just bought two 2005 Triumph from albeebaby.com. They arrived yesterday. They have the olive/pewter triumphs from 2005 for the same price as a 2006 Volo. I was hesitant of the color but when they came in, I found that I preferred this color over all others. It'll hide dirt well until you get around to washing it. And it probably won't retain heat or fade as a darker stroller would. And the literature that came with it also says 55 lbs.

Good luck!

Great! Thanks so much for the info! I did get that info off a baby website and was so disappointed because I really wanted this stoller! So I am off to purchase one!

We have an 05 Mac Quest for DS5 who is 48 pounds and wants to be in a stroller occassionally at WDW - love it! Pushes like a dream.

I have a 2005 Maclaren Quest Mod for DD (she's 1) and it is my FAVORITE STROLLER I'VE EVER OWNED! (I've had like 5)

Even when my 43 pound 4 1/ 2year old jumps in for fun, it pushes like a dream.

 DGS is a big boy for4 but he's still 4 and will get tired . A stroller seems a solution for the rest of us to stay longer in the parks, not to mention being able to carry stuff on/in it. We have a double on layaway and think it will work fine Any comments on ppros/cons would be appreciated :cheer2: :cheer2: pirate: :smokin: :smokin:

FYI-I just got a coupon book in the mail from Babies R Us with a $20 off any stroller over $100-I think this is the best deal I have been able to find. :thumbsup2

I got a new 05' Mac Mod 3mths ago from ebay. Shipped to the home I paid 139.00. I love it! It steers great , has the bin underneath which is a must with all the extra junk we have to carry. The only down fall has been that after 12noon the sun shade doesn't help much with blocking sun so we switch to a hat! We did go to BBRUS before we bought on ebay just to see what we were getting and to make sure our DD liked the way it sat.
