Strollers for an older child....

I'm a big fan of mine - almost 3 years old now and it's still amazing! My little one is over 40 lbs and I've got 20 more pounds of "child weight" that I can add to it, so I hope I'm set. I've got the Manhattan Dreamer and we get stopped all the time and asked about it. We got ours at joggingstroller.com (or it might be joggingstroller(s) plural - don't quite remember) - free shipping and fantastic customer service.

Man, if I didn't need my double stoller I would so go for the Graco IPO, but then, I love my Graco strollers. Those Maclaren's look nice too, though. Good luck with your purchase!

SOOOO, I just bought a mac triumph :wizard: ....I debated back and forth forever, but the benefits really outweighed the price :worship: ....It's nice that either of my kids could fit in it....comfortably! and I will probably have it for maybe 5 more years! :cloud9:

Thanks for all the input...seemes the mac wins again. :cool2:

Were not stroller users either, but I KNEW we'd need one for this trip...even if I mostly use it to pile stuff on and carry DD in the evening! I was reading another board about how moms in strollers run people over all the time @ DL....I promise not to run anyone over, and if I do by accident I will say sorry :scared:

You may also want to look into the Chicco C5 and the Inglesina Swift. We are going back and forth ebtw the two. Ing's are basically the same as the Mac's just a tad cheaper. I always check Albee baby before looking anywhere else because their prices are great and you get free shipping and free tax on orders over $100. We just bought a new Aria that we love but it is for a newborn....we have a ton of strollers, each for a different use. Good luck

Where are you staying? If you're staying at the Grand CA hotel, then you could easily get away with just renting a Disney stroller.

But for us (and we are NOT a stroller family except for jogging!) we find the stroller most valuable when getting to and from (especially "to") to our hotel. We've stayed at Paradise Pier, HoJo, and Anabella with DS, and each of those has been (Anabella) or would have been (PP and HoJo) a slog without a stroller.

Last summer I made a ridiculous error and got a Combi Cosmo (they have been redone though since then) which felt like a slug on sidewalk. Consigned that fast (we had just passed the return period for Amazon where we bought it) and got a Baby Trend. Even though that was great for the September trip, here we are in Feb, and he's outgrown it by 2 pounds already. I don't know what we were thinking! (yes I do...cheap cheap cheap is what we were thinking!)

So now we're in the market for another Disney stroller, and I was thinking that the only possibility was a Maclaren, but lo and behold, Graco has just made something called an IPO.

They look a lot like the Macs, and they go to 50 lbs (5 lbs under the Macs). They are a bit heavier than the Maclarens, but they handle only a *tiny* bit mushier than the Macs. Can you tell I just testdrove them both side by side one after another at BRU last week? :rotfl:

The Graco's footrest is solid, and the Mac's footrest is flexible. The Mac comes with a rain cover (helpful).

The Graco IPO is about 70/80 bucks right now. Prices of a Mac will vary (we tried the Triumph and the Quest, which vary in price significantly it seems).

We haven't decided which to get (with Mac it would be the Triumph, not the Volo I think), but unless someone comes out with something else, those brands will be the two choices.

(if you think that's confusing, can you imagine what I'm going through now that he's shooting up in weight perilously towards the end of the weight limits for his carseats!!! and graco came out with something that might bump out the long-planned-for britax regent...graco is nudging its way into all of my decisions suddenly!!! yay for them having good and reasonable-priced things, but they are messing with my brain, LOL)

Hi, I was just wondering what stroller you went with? I'm debating between the Graco IPO or the MAC Volo. I have to drive 1 1/2 hors to a BRU so were going this saturday to try them out. I have only seen them online. My DD is 39 lb and 42 inches .
TIA
Laura

We didn't buy one yet, other things are taking our extra money right now (old landlord called to mention that her big condo, across the street from our small apartment, is opening for rent again, and we've decided to move in the week before Disneyland and the last two days of the month after we get back AUGH).

Hubby wanted the Maclaren, any one of them. I was more half/half. I'm sure it'll take one more BRU trip to remind ourselves of what we want (thankful we live so close!). DS gets the "I wants" at BRU which is not fun when we're not buying on that day!!!
