Does a 5 year old need a stroller?

She hasn't used one in a while, but i did take it with us to the zoo over the summer....it ended up being a catchall for bags, drinks what not.

I have an older umbrella type or was thinking about renting one....any ideas?

I would rent one unless you think your child will be too tired to walk to the car after dropping it off. We are planning on renting one for DS4 and DS5. It is easier to keep up with them in the crowds. Plus, like you mentioned before, it is a great catch-all.

Im taking my own only because I dont feel like paying almost 100 for the week for strollers ( Id need a double). Neither of my kiddos use a stroller much at 2 and 4 but I wouldnt risk it at Disney. My 4 yr old does zoos and local amusement parks without one. If she doesnt use hers we will just store it under the other one.

We have 3 boys ages 4.5 years, 3 years, and 17months. When we were the 2 weeks ago we rented 2 doubles. The 2 younger shared one and the older one sat in the other along with all of our stuff. Disney is huge...and there is no way my oldest (who will be 5 in 2 months) could have walked the whole time...plus it was nice to have a place to set the messenger bag so we didn't have to carry it the whole time. Have Fun!!!

IMO, your decision is based in part upon which resort you're staying at -- and I think that is Poly by looking at your sig. So I would say YES to take your own stroller. You will be taking the monorail to/from MK and Epcot, most likely, and if you're at the parks late at night, your child can rest/sleep in the stroller and you can roll it right on the monorail and get off at the TTC without ever waking your child. Then walk from TTC to your room, again letting your child sleep. It really makes for a relaxing trip for the adults as well (LOL). As a side note, we have twins, last trip 4 years old and we still take our double jogger and it works very well for us. We comment quite frequently during our trips "good thing we bought our stroller." We do a lot of outside-the-parks walking and the kids do tend to tire out.

I would think it is a must. We will be getting one for our son next may and he will be almost 6. It is so much walking for a little one and they already wear themselves out on experienceing everything for us it is a must.

As far as the rent vs bring, I would take a few things into consideration. First is transportation if you are riding anything but the monorail you will have to break it down, and that looks like a big hastle.

Also, with renting you can take a stroler for a bit, if you dont want it you don t have to push it around all day, you can simply come and get another one later with your pass.

I prefer to rent just as a personal convience because I dont want to deal with the stroller on the plane, bus, park, hotel etc. But It is a trade off because we usually spend about $60 renting a stroller while we are there.
