I know you can rent strollers in the park. But is there any reason for me NOT to bring my good double jogging stroller. It is soo comfy for the kids and has good storage space. I am just wondering if I am limiting where I can go. It is slightly wider than the average wheel chair.

I'm assuming that it doesn't fold up since it's a jogging stroller. If that's the case, you won't be able to take it on the monorail or the Disneyland Railroad. But you wouldn't be able to take the rental strollers on those anyway. Other than that, you shouldn't have any problems. The width of it definitely won't limit where you can go. We took our side-by-side double stroller to WDW and didn't have any problems at all. And because it folds up, we were able to take it on the monorail, etc. We're also taking it with us to DL next week.

The nicest thing about bringing your own is being able to keep the kids in it all the way back to your hotel and in DTD. We rented strollers last year, and they were great while we were in the parks, but that walk back to the room each night (even though we were very nearby at the GCH) carrying two sleepy little girls was pretty rough on all of us. :)

We'll be taking our Jeep umbrella stroller and I'll be carrying a (close to) lime green backpack. I wanted the grey/black backpack, but my wife was concerned about things getting too warm in the sun, so we went with the lighter color.

We thought about a stroller with more storage, but we're paranoid and don't want to get off of a ride to find out we'll be carrying Abby the rest of the day, or stealing a stroller ourselves :thumbsup2 :lmao: :rotfl2:

We took our double jogging stroller and it was a lifesaver! Our kids (4 and 5 in the stroller) were usually asleep by the time we hit the park gates. I would've hated trying to carry them back to the hotel.

You can take rented strollers on the railroad, you just have to fold them down. Sometimes the people on the train will help you fold them down, othertimes they will not help and tell you you can't take the stroller on board because they are too lazy to show or help you collapse the stroller. I have never seen them tell someone who collapsed the stroller themselves they can not take them on.

As for the monorail never tried, but since you can't take the strollers out of the park I would assume they wouldn't let you, and there is no reason to take it anyway.

As far as taking any stroller on the railroad or monorail, it does not have to be completely flat when folded. If you can collapse it enough so a child can not sit in it, you can take it on. I think the main reason for the requirement is to make sure your child is not riding in it. Years ago they would let you wheel the strollers on the monorail. They have since changed this rule. However, I usually just pushed the button on mine and left if mostly open (too much stuff in the baggage compartment in the bottom to collapse very far). Never had a problem.

Thanks for the input everyone. Our stroller does fold up pretty flat but it is still a double so it is bulky. I think we will take it based on the thought of having to carry the munchkins back to the hotel at night! I just hope I don't get to paraniod that someone will steal it if we have to leave it to go on a ride.

I have taken my strollers to disneyland litterally hundreds of times. We routinely took a stroller for her well past her 5th birthday. She loved to ride in it, and it made getting around easier most of the time, especially when her legs got tired. We never had a problem with people taking them or anything in them, though my strollers were probably not as nice as yours, they weren't cheap umbrella strollers either. The only time we prefered not to bring a stroller at all, or to rent one at DL was on extremely busy holidays like 4th of July and New Years Eve. I remember the first New Years Eve we took her she was 1 and by 6:30 at night I could no longer stand the stroller. We ended up taking it back to the car. The next year we rented a stroller, and when it got too crowded to move with we just turned it in, and got another later when we wanted it again.

I don't see the point of putting strollers in the way during parades and fireworks unless my daughter is in it. So I generally moved it out of the way, that is why it was easier for us to just rent one, and have one when we needed it and get it back when we wanted another.

dOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT'S TRUE---aaa MEMBERS GET FREE STROLLER RENTAL?

Is it a fixed front wheel or a swivel? If it swivels, I'd totally bring it. However, if it is a large, fixed wheel then I might not want to bring it. I've seen a lot of people trying to manuever their fixed wheel strollers through the park by holding the front end off the ground. In some of the crowded areas of the parks, this seemed like a nightmare.

I have brought my larger side by side walking stroller (with a swivel) and it was fine. I had to be a little more patient in the really crowded areas, but it wasn't a major problem. And it was a total lifesaver when going longer distances!

AAA - no, Disney VISA - yes.

OP-you won't regret bringing it. Since we have a Disney Visa, I told my DH we wouldn't be needing the stroller on our last visit, but he brought it anyway. It was a MAJOR lifesaver! If you are worried about theft bring a bike lock. You can't lock it to anything, but you can put the lock on the wheels so it can't be easily rolled away.

You took the words right out of my mouth JennsBabySky ;)

I have seen parents fumble with fixed wheel joggers and have hard times getting through crowds so many times. I'd never take my jogger to DL. It is great stroller, but it is just too cumbersome. We have taken a double Kolkraft reclining umbrella stroller before (I bought it off craigslist for $20) and that was nice, but my favorite way to go now is with two small strollers. I have a Maclaren Volo and a cheap umbrella stroller. I push one, my DH pushes the other. It's easy to navigate crowds this way, and if it's a crazy time, like after fireworks, we split up and meet at a designated place.

Great thanks.. I have too much information :furious: Is it AAA, DVC or Disney Visa. Now I know. We have brought our own strollers in the past and also rented but now that the youngest is 5 and don't normally use a stroller anymore I figured we can leave it home. We'll rent one for DL not only for the young'un but there great for cameras, snacks and all the other stuff that noone wants to carry.
