Talk to me about taking our stroller (City Mini GT Double) through airport security. I have an add-on parent console that straps on - do I need to take that off? This is my first time with a stroller, is there anything I need to know?

would plan on removing even if not at security but when you gate check as it could be knocked off when with the checked bags

I believe we had to remove loose items from the stroller, fold it and run it through on the conveyor. If the stroller folds with the parent console, you might be able to leave it on. But I agree it's probably best to remove it before gate checking.

When we have taken our City Mini GT, we never had to remove the console. The TSA agents always took it and wanded it and just went through the extra pockets.

It wouldn't even fit through on the conveyor belt.

We leave all attachments on ours but pop the wheels off so it'll fit through the x-ray.

Depending on which airport you fly out of makes a difference too. At BWI my citi mini won't fit on the conveyor belt but it will at MCO. They take it from me at BWI and wand it

We've flown many, many times with our city mini single and double strollers -- always with the console attached, and never had to remove it. Also, never removed it at gate check, and luckily, have never had a problem. We don't have a GT, but the single fits through the scanners we've been through.

Thank you! I have the bag that I will put it in when we gate check it, so not worried about it falling off. Hmm, guess I need to practice putting it in there with the console attached. When I practiced putting it in there when I got the bag, I didn't have the console yet. I know it does fold with the console just not sure if it folds enough! We fly out of Des Moines and Sanford so probably won't fit through the conveyers.
