Stroller Theft- Really does it happen alot?

::yes::
That's what I've also been told.
Apparently a lot of people assume if it's not found right away, it will never be found and they don't check back with Lost and Found.

I love property control and cast connection, It's like a huge Disney yard sale.

My wife goes crazy in those stores, especially after Christmas when they are selling their trees etc from Christmas.

I seen a camcorder that I was thinking about buying, I turned it on to see how it worked only to see what appeared to be someones vacation :( Kind of made me sad actually.

I apologize if this has already been suggested (I didn't read all of the replies just yet), but this is what worked for us. Last year we had just spent $350 on a baby jogger city mini and accessories so I was leery about leaving it after reading about stroller theft. So, we bought a run-of-the-mill bicycle chain/lock and we would thread it through the back wheels and around the bottom bar only. This way, the CMs could still move them as needed but it did have to be pushed on the front wheel only. DH asked a CM before doing this if it would be ok and they said as long as they could move it without having to carry it, it was fine. Of course, a thief still could have taken it but we were hoping our stroller would look like a less-easy target. It did take about an extra two minutes to put on/take off but DH had it down to a science and it was no big deal. As others have said, it doesn't happen constantly but I just didn't want to take the risk- not only would we have missed our stroller, but I knew it would have really put a damper on the fun. I hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks that is the exact stroller we just bought.

I would not bother with an umbrella stroller... too unstable and too uncomfortable and too risky to have feet caught underneath. We had a Peg Perego Venezia stroller (big comfy convert to carriage stroller) that was perfect when DS was 3 and 4. He could fall asleep in it and still be comfortable and we stayed out a little later. It was very stable. Retails $400+ but we bought a used one for about $50... so who cares if it was stolen.....
