Stroller Stolen WITH A Bike Lock On It?

We lock up our stroller. It only takes a moment to do, so why not?

The cable lock stays in the basket with one twist around the stroller frame. To lock up the stroller, I just pull the two ends through the back wheels and lock them together. If it takes more than a few seconds, I'd be shocked.

Good to hear! My friend just spent a lot of money on a new double stroller to use in Disney (supposed to be very lightweight and easy to open and close). Someone here posted a link to a really neat lock so I forwarded it to my friend. Looks quite simple to use!! :thumbsup2

Just a word of advice from a CM... do not use a lock to attach your stroller to something. As a CM, if we see that, we are supppsed to call security.

You know, that makes sense. With everyone being so paranoid about stroller theft, did anyone think about how it would look to have a stroller locked to something so it cannot be moved (I am NOT talking about locking just the wheels so don't jump on me with that)? I can imagine that would look like a security risk.

All you do is lock the wheels together, you don't lock it to some other object. All of the CMs I spoke with actually thought it was a great idea! :confused3

Also if you're leaving stuff in it be aware of exposed food, I've seen both squirrels and ducks help themselves.

Check out the BuggyGuard locks on Amazon. We used one of these for our stroller earlier in the month, worked flawlessly all week long! :thumbsup2

I just ordered one of these myself! thanks for the review I was hoping it wasn't junkie lol

I have taken my side by side Maclaren on 3 consecutive trips and never had it stolen. It was moved from time to time by CM's, but never had any problems. I honestly never thought about locking it up.

Because it's not one minute once, it's one minute times a thousand - or so it feels. Honestly, it will slow you down. And if you forget the combination or something it could be far worse.

Over a number of family trips, we've never had any problems, and never had to resort to extremes. Here's a simple way to help; put an identifying marker on your stroller, that's not easy to remove. a.k.a. a sticker! It's that simple. A few stickers are probably enough of a detererent when thieves have so many stollers to choose from.

A few birght stickers also makes it easier to FIND your stroller in the sea of strollers! Starting with a distinct colored stroller helps, too. I've heard of using things like iron-on decals, too.

i have taken nicer strollers to Disney at not had a problem. this year, i won't be taking my nice jogging stroller. i'll just take DS' old stroller instead.

my DH would be annoyed with having to deal with a lock all of the time.
