Now that I know strollers can go on planes (major Duh, lol), what is the best one for Disney?

My son is 5 and we rarely go anywhere that would need a stroller, so we don't have one. The general consensus seems to be that it's best to have one and that he will get tired, and I figured as much.

What kind of stroller do you guys use? We'd need one that would work at the airport, and the bus from the airport and around WDW and on their transportation. In a perfect world, it would have a cup holder for parents and one for the kid, and a bag on the bottom for storage. I've looked on Amazon and BabiesRusfor travel strollers, and they all seem to be geared towards infants or enormous. :guilty:

I would skip it for the airport and just rent a citi mini or citi elite from an outside company. It will be waiting for you at the hotel.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look into it. Do we just leave it with the hotel to return it also?

I might've found a friend who said I can take her jogging stroller.. How does having a stroller on the transportation in the park work? Do you have to stick it somewhere under the bus in a storage area or somewhere on the monorail? Do you just fold it up and keep it with you?

You have to fold them and take them on the bus with you. The monorail you jsut wheel them on. I would highly recommend renting one from an off site place like Orlando Stroller Rentals or Kingdom Strollers. They have extremely nice strollers and they fold SUPER easy!!! We went with Kingdom Stoller this time because they will deliver a case of water.

just a little note...i would def def def not take a jogger
1. they are very heavy generally
2 they fold like a washing machine they are still bulky and huge
3. everyone on the bus will despise you bringing that huge thing on the bus at the end of the day

now i am not against joggers for normal use.... in fact i almost considered bringing it to disney. I was so glad i didnt....so glad. I saw other people dragging those monsters on the bus it was ridiculous. they were hitting everyone and couldnt get down the aisle.

we have a peg perego (aria), it weights 11 lbs, folds very small and has a hood, and plent of storage under. they are pricey around 180

i bet you could get a good deal on a plain old umbrella stoller and strap a bag to it, and be fine...around 30 dollars
Think weight and also size with a umbrella and a large crowd you can collapse to nothing.
other suggestion get a really cheap umbrella and when your kid is not in it put your bag in it and push the bag.

just my 2 cents hope it helps

Ah, I didn't really think about the size factor.. I definitely don't want to be *that* person, nor do I want to be stuck with a big bulky stroller..

So, we're going to be there for 7 days, and for the price of a stroller rental, we could just buy our own. I found this one on Walmart.com... Seems to have everything we wanted - cup holders, lightweight, storage, and it's somehow smaller than some of the umbrellas on the site. For something that probably only going to be used at Disney and only $44, I feel like we can't go wrong. Just need to find a way to see it in person.. I hate online shopping.

looks ok...i would also check craigslist.com, i see you have several months till you arrive, you could also garage sale one. most importantly if you are going with a regular stroller might as well make sure it can lay back for nap time. i think the most important thing to us is bulk ughhhh..... def do not want it. we are bringing a cheap umbrella stroller, for some days because you can fold them and carry them through a crowd.
btw we will also have the peg perego aria with us

I had the Jeep version of this stroller when oldest DD was 19mo thru almost 2. I don't know how big your 5yo is, but it would seem to me it would be too small. She is now 4 and still fits comfortably in the Joovy Kooper I bought before she turned 2 for a Disney trip.

I'm with everyone who is suggesting renting.

In our case, renting just wouldn't be worth it. The sites I checked would be about $60-$70, without the convenience of having it at the airport, or cup holders, and this one has everything and is only $44. My son is on the small side, so this would actually work perfectly for us. I already ordered it.. Due to show up by April 3rd. Fingers crossed. :)

I would reconsider- the stroller you are considering has a height limit of 40 inches and a weight limit of 45 lbs. Most 5 year olds are over that (height-wise at least)

My DD is 5 and we have rented the past 2 trips and will again in a couple of weeks. One other thing to think about is renting allows me to not have to deal with a stroller at the airport and through security/xray machine.

The other thing is that yes, you are spending $60-70 for the rental but you are renting a $200+ stroller, really easy to fold and steers like a dream. Wish I bought one when my daughter was little!

We have used Magic Strollers 3 times now and have nothing but good comments about the company - very professional and responsive.

I'm probably in the vast majority, but we took a $15 umbrella stroller with a canopy when DD was 2.5 and 4. Light and easy and DD seemed pretty comfy and napped just fine. At 4 though she really didn't ride in it so much and we even left it at the resort a couple of days only grabbing it when we hopped to another park in the evening.

I plan on visiting in may and we are driving from oklahoma to orlando and we are taking our Jeep Jogging Stroller. I thought of renting but I dont trust it being there, also being clean, comfortable, reliable, and keeping the sun off my baby. Plus I dont see paying the prices they charge in renting a stroller. So I plan on taking my stroller because I know where its been how its taken care of. I also know that it is reliable and does not have any problems. And my baby will have plenty of room the lay down but also sit up comfortably. I also plan on buying fans so he will be able to keep cool. So there are some things to look at and consider. Good Luck.:banana::banana:

Definitely get a stroller... and not a jogger! My kids were 9, 7, and 4 when we went last summer, and there were times my 9 year old was fighting the younger two for the stroller. We forgot a stroller and ended up doing a multiday rental through Disney. Had I I thought of it right away, we might have ordered an umbrella stroller through Amazon Prime and had it there next day. However, the Disney stroller was great because it had a good sun shade and cup holders, and it's larger than an umbrella stroller. My 7 year old sat in it at times with my 4 year old sitting in front of her between her legs. Sounds like you already have it covered, but for others with older kids, the Disney rental is something to consider. It IS expensive, but it is also nice if you are taking Disney transportation to not have to worry about lugging a stroller. You just pick it up when you get in the park (while your spouse heads off to get fast passes!) :-)
