Do you bring your full size stroller or a lightweight umbrella type stroller? My son will be 16 months at the time of our visit and I think I want to bring my full size stroller for his comfort. It has a nice canopy for shade, cupholders for me and him and a lot of storage on the bottom. On the other hand that thing is going to be a pain for my dh to fold and get on and off the buses. What do you bring? Thanks

At 16 mos, I would think he would be more comfortable in the larger one. Unless you have a Maclaren or another umbrella type that reclines.

I just bring the Maclaren, it's easy to fold up and down and small and easy to push around the parks :)

I would bring your full-size stroller (what kind is it?). For our upcoming trip, we are planning on bringing our Peg Perego Pliko P3 - it reclines fully, has a huge canopy/shade, nice snack tray for drinks and snacks - plus I KNOW my son is comfortable and will be happy. That in itself is worth it for me. :thumbsup2 Also, I want something that can recline all the way and he can take naps in!!

We did 2 umbrella style strollers last time, Graco Ipos. They recline fully and are ok, but we will be bringing the full size strollers this time. They are just more comfortable in them.

I am planning on bringing my double stroller for my 3 and 4 year old. My husband thinks we should just rent the strollers from WDW, but I want to bring ours.

We brought our double stroller last time b/c our baby was six months, so he still napped a bunch. It was very cumbersome to get on and off the busses...not to mention that many people would not move and let my husband through when trying to carry it on the bus. This time the kids are older and we are bringing two umbrella strollers.

My DD will be 16 months when we go, and I plan on bringing her full size Graco stroller that was part of her infant travel system... Might be a pain, but I want her comfortable!

When we went in 2005 we brought our full size stroller with us. My DD was just shy of two years old (actually she was 23 months old). It was perfect for her (reclined, had a snack tray, and an awning). We wound up taking the snack tracy off and leaving it in the resort room. She was able to walk, run, etc with her older siblings but when we had to move from one side of the park to the other side, she was able to sit back and relax. Additionally, she took a nap EVERY single day. DH would take the older two on a ride and I would take the little one to a quiet, boring, corner and just walk back and forth. Then we had two hours of bliss. Furthermore, the full basket on the bottom and the drink holders for the adults was quite nice.

This year, DD will be two months shy of five years old (both of her siblings are teenagers now). We are bringing the big stroller again. No, I don't expect her to use it much. The basket will be wonderful, she will have a chance to sit and rest for a minute when she needs too, and she will be able to sit in the stroller when we have to move from one side to the other. Lastly, at the end of the night, when the little one is exhausted - it will be nice to recline the seat and let her relax.

Essentially - it's her safe haven.

But, that's just my two cents.

OH - and lastly - it's wonderful to put her in when moving through the airport. We just gate check it from there.

I would bring the full sized stroller. He will end up fallins asleep at some point and it's nice that it can recline. The basket underneath will be helpful with all the stuff you end up schlepping and I always loved the cup holders my stroller had.

We faced the exact same dilema. The problem is, neither is a good choice. The full sized stroller that you probably used even with an infant carrier is just too big and a pain in the neck to fold up quickly. An umbrella stroller doesn't have some things that you will find are essential: A basket underneath, a visor, and a cupholder.

We spent about 35 bucks and bought an intermediate stroller. It was from Toys r us, was extremely light and had those features. It reclined as well. It was such a good investment, that we haven't used anything else since then. For the next child, we'll use the full blown stroller we have with the infant carrier, but after that, it's straight to this intermediate. As far as a traditional umbrella stroller, I can never see myself using it b/c this one folds just as easily and offers the other features.

As a follow up, b/c of the heat and sun, you're going to want to have a visor to cover. And the basket underneath is invaluable for storing things instead of having to carry more.
