We will fly across the country for our trip. I didn't want the hassle of dealing with our stroller during a layover in the middle of the night. However, after seeing Disney prices for stroller rental I am reevaluating. What are everyone's thoughts on bring from home vs renting at park vs renting from outside park? If you rent from outside the park who do you recommend we use?

Thank you so much!

we rented from orlando stroller rental when we went last year but i just looked at magic strollers who is recommended by mousesavers and it is cheaper.

It can depend on how long you are renting a stroller for. We used Orlando Strollers in January and they were great - even when our flights were delayed. I priced out our trip in Jan 2016 and Magic Strollers are more than Orlando Stroller by more than $30 including taxes and insurance. This year our trip is for 10 days.

We always bring our own. My kids are comfortable with it, I know how to operate it. Did you check with your airline to see if you can check it for free?

You *should* be able to bring one baby item for free- stroller or car seat or play pen usually. Although it changes so often I would double check. IME you can gate check it and it's there for you when you get off your flight, or you can check it with baggage and it will come at the special item baggage claim.

I get not wanting to deal with it on a layover, or risking it being lost or damaged. But if the price of renting is up there, still might be worth the risk and hassle. We will be bringing our own because of price and comfort. Even though it's a big jogging stroller, it folds and maneuvers like a dream. Plus, my kid can get pretty overwhelmed so familiarity is always a bonus.

I prefer to bring our stroller. I hate to pay for something that we already have. We just gate check it at the airport.
No, it's not ideal lugging it around the airport, but it's worth it for us.

We have lugged our stroller through the airport (it was a maclaren double - so not huge) and my husband still says the $100 we spent renting was the best $100 we spent last trip so that he didn't have to lug it or deal with it at all. Plus we rented the Citi Mini double GT and it drove awesome.

We have the City Mini double, and it's HUGE, but it is super easy to fold up and maneuver.

we took our own last year and we'll be taking it again, DS was 2 last year and he napped in the stroller while we waited to board the plane, he's 3 now and DD will be 10 months, so for us, taking our own stroller is a must, plus there's no charge when we check it in at the gate

We rented off site the last two trips. I wanted a stroller that would recline (we had a sit and stand). Both times we rented from Apple. The first trip was great. The second, the company was very friendly but the stroller was VERY worn. This upcoming trip I'm renting from Magic Strollers.

We have rented from Orlando Stroller a few times, They were great. Some companies can leave the stroller with bell service, some you have to be there to take the stroller from them. Just make sure you know that before you make your reservation. Our stroller was waiting for us when we checked in. We did bring our stroller from home before, but the money we spent was worth not having to deal with the stroller at the airport. Plus I love the city mini stroller that they rent! If you rent from the parks, they hard plastic and you don't have a stroller once you leave the park. Our daughter needed it most at the end of the day, some of the bus stops are a hike!

We also rented from Orlando Strollers. The stroller was great and I felt like reasonable ($70 for a 7 night stay). We drove and ours would have taken up way too much room in the car. Plus, we still use the travel system stroller that we got to go with our car seat. It is adequate for our little in town excursions, but I did not feel like it was easy enough to fold, folded small enough, had a big enough sun shade, or was easy enough to push to get through Disney. The City Mini we rented was awesome! They also threw in a rain cover for free which really came in handy.
