I have a Graco stroller, but it is heavy and large. My 3 year old is tall and I really would like to get an umbrella type stroller. What do you suggest? Nothing real expensive, we are looking around $100. We are not renting a car so, something smaller is a + on the bus! :)

Maclarens are the way to go with older children. You may be able to find the bottom model for around $100, not sure though. Keep in mind that the bottom model doesn't recline, if that is important to you.

my advice follow three kids, multiple theme park vacations is RENT A STROLLER. Then you don't have to haul one anywhere...

umbrella strollers are too short for my hubby and me, i'm 5 10 and he's 6 1.......

in order to get thru security you'll have to unload yours anyway....

buy the huge ziploc bags for everything you want in stroller and carry that into park...it makes getting thru security easier plus it keeps stuff dry if it rains......we rent a double stroller although only 1 kid is stroller age, this gives us an extra seat at times, as well as more places for "stuff"

I would defimetly bring my own stroller. For the cost of rental for the week you could buy a new stroller. Also if your little one is tired and doesn't want to walk to the buses or monorail etc. you will have to carry them. You can probably find a low end Mac online cheap. princess:

We recently purchased a Brittax Esprit for about $65 (same manufacture of carseats), and we are very happy with it. It is very similar to the Maclaren Quest (our runner up in our family stroller contest)...reclines, extended leg rest, roomy seat area, etc but it cost a fraction of the Maclaren. The stroller weighs only 12 pounds and it has a carry handle. The weight limit for the stroller is 40 pounds, but our 6 year old dd who is 44 inches and 42 pounds can ride comfortably and be pushed easily in the stroller (which we actually purchased it for her 1 year old sister).

Good luck with your stroller decision...I struggle for months over what to purchase. Oh, we purchased our stroller from Albeebaby...they have a nice selection of strollers and are well priced.

I posted a question like this a few months ago and got lots of helpful advice. My biggest issue was with the stroller handles. I wanted taller ones so that DH who is 6' wouldn't have to strain his back as much to push her around.
Many recommended and I bought a Chicco C5 umbrella stroller at Babies R' Us for $79.99. It is nice for an umbrella and the padded handles are much higher than the average umbrella.
We are bringing it with us to WDW in September because we want to be able to wheel her around in the airport without carrying her.

I went with a Mac Quest to use for my then 3 yr old son at WDW. Hes tall, as am I (5'10"). Before I was using a Chico Caddy and it was too short for me. The Macs go up to 55 lbs, have taller handles and are a breeze to push with one hand. The Quest reclines and my son did nap in it. I know use it for my DD1. Many like the Mac Volvo-a simple umbrella type but with no recline.
