I have a special needs 4 yr old. She is 22 lbs and has a power wheelchair. Her chair is 300 lbs and we don't take it in rain or snow, etc. Its nice to keep a stroller around "in case" We have a valco baby jogger and its *awsome*, but its heavy and bulky.... not great for flying, putting in the car for Dis "in case" its a rainy day, etc.

Yesterday we went to Babies R Us and I tried the different strollers. I found the Maclaren Triumph. It sits up the straightest (straighter than any of the other compactish strollers we tried at BRU). My 4 yr old won't hear of reclining.... after all she is "not a baby". She still wasn't happy with the tilt. I get it, I know its a stroller, I know its for toddlers, not kids. However, I was wondering if perhaps anyone had other recommendations we should *check out* that may sit up even straighter?

Thanks! I appreciate any input!

They also have a special needs stroller--just not sure how much it is.

Yah its bigger (when kids outgrow the small ones). Its way too big for my daughter, but thanks.

Would it help to tell DD that my kids shared a stroller last time we were at WDW - ages 7 and 9!! WDW is huge and many folks need extra help getting around to avoid getting cranky. Wheels are definitely not just for babies at WDW. Note that we have a MacLaren and we removed the safety harnesses - after all, as your DD says, they aren't babies and can sit up themselves. Next trip the kids will be 8 and 10 and DH insists on the stroller as a "pack mule" even though I hope nobody will actually ride in it at that point. Would she buy that idea: Mommy needs it to carry her stuff - you may as well enjoy the ride... :confused3 Good luck.

Zoopers have a really straight and upright backing to them.

If she likes the Valco - I really would just take that. (But a big portion of that reasoning is that I often take my Valco twin to disney....and a single seems lightweight and non bulky in comparison  )

Out last trip to Dis (feb) she did awsome in her power wheelchair. She drove herself all day everyday. However, it was Feb and there was no rain. Next trip is may... again shouldn't be too much rain. However, in Oct there will be daily rain when we go.

Also yesterday it was rainy.... I couldn't take her power chair. I didn't want to deal with her big valco. We also typically don't have room for her valco for trips to WDW! I need a smaller umbrella as "backup" to her chair (like when its raining, or when mom forgets to charge her chair, last trip Epcot day). I am thinking we may just go with the triumph. I was just hoping maybe I could find one that sat a bit straighter!

Thanks again for your help :D

Yah.... we drive an Expedition. I have her power chair on an outside lift. However, we still have to fit all our luggage and her walker (goodness knows she can't go without her walker). I guess we have extra *equipment*. Since we didn't even use the stroller at all last time, it would be nice to have a little compact backup. Maybe I am dreaming :D

I will check the Zooper? Never heard of it!
