stroller for older ones...

For the OP, how much does your 6 year old use the stroller while at WDW? My sister and her family are coming along on this trip (their 1st with kids) and I'm thinking her DD6 will need to use a stroller at some point. I don't think my sister gets how much walking this will be, but I'm going to tell her to be prepared to rent anyway....

Urgh - will the Disney strollers work for a 75 lb 6 y/o?? I'm planning to bring my cheap umbrella stroller for the 3 y/o (along with whatever carrier(s) I bring - she'll probably spend more time in the stroller), but I don't own a stroller that I can use with ds. But, I'm pretty sure he's not up for the amount of walking at WDW! I'd been considering renting one there for him on the longer days, but don't know how feasible that is.

To the person who asked how much my 6 yr old uses the stroller, I will say quite a bit in the afternoon into the evening or when we are trying to move along someplace quickly. He's a stroller kid- my daughter on the otherhand hates them and I don't know if we will be in the same sort of situation when she turns 6. Usually we switch parks midday and that's when we rent the stroller for him. MGM you really don't need one, but I would highly suggest having one for your epcot days (we buy off our kids with snacks in the stroller while we have a nice drink and walk through the countries- but seriously epcot is a lot of walking). MK can go both ways and we have not been to AK with him (dh hates it there)

Does anyone possibly have one they would like to sell- I would love to get one second hand- thanks, Jen

Have you checked craigslist I have found sound some volos on there in my area for 75 or less.

As to the op I would suggest this as well if you feel better with a mac but if not this is the stroller I have been using with my dd since she was 3 she is now 7 and I used it in disney 3 times last year. Primarily she just knapped in it but it also carried our things.

They are on sale right now and you don't have to buy them online unless you like one of the colors online better then what is in the store.

If you want one with more of a recline. I would go with the jeep umbrella stroller.

I thought I had a better pic but this is dd knapping before MVMCP!

the pic above is from last december she was 6 she weighs 50lbs and I have no trouble pushing her in it at all I actually bought mine at toysrus so if you have one near by check and see if they have them instock and push your ds around the store for a little while in it. One thing I like about this one is that the front wheels unlike other models or brands has shocks on it which I think helps it not be so hard to push. I use to have the jeep umbrella twin stroller and it was very easy to push with my two girls in it. I also use this umbrella stroller for my younger dd who weighs about the same as my older dd but she doesn't walk or crawl so she is dead weight and it is easy to push with her as well.
