Stroller: baggage claim or check for DME to pick up?

We're flying Southwest to Disney this weekend and will be bringing our own stroller. We plan to hit MK as soon as we arrive, so my question is...
Since our luggage might take a while to arrive, should we pick up our stroller at baggage claim to bring on DME ourselves (is baggage claim a lot of trouble?) or should we plan to rent a stroller for that afternoon?
Not using a stroller is not an option...we have 4 kids and I'm not lugging that many by the sweat of my brow. :-) TIA!

Can you gate check the stroller? Then it will be right at the gate when you deplane and you won't have to go to baggage claim.

100% Gate check the stroller, you'll want it when you get there without having to run to baggage claim for it, and with DME it might not show up until a few hours later.

I second gate checking the stroller. SW makes it very easy to do so.

Southwest is really good about letting you gate check strollers (unlike some other airlines). We have gate checked even our huge jogging one several times. Given your situation that's what I'd do. No need to mess with baggage claim, and you'll have it right away when you get to MK.

Definitely gate check. We use the stroller to push the carry ons and car seats and make the kids walk! We only have to struggle for a minimal amount of time that way!
