Oh, well, my underwire bra set off the metal detector once, so I just use regular bras now when I fly. I keep a couple I actually refer to as my "travel bras". You never know........the main thing with security is to realize its an unfortunate necessity in today's world. Just allow plenty of extra time, and don't take it personal if you're pulled aside for any aditional screening. Be polite and cooperative and you might just be surprised at how nice you'll be treated in return! I guess I'm just so used to it it doesn't bother me any more.
The only airport security incident I ever had that irked me was when I was traveling with my cat. I had him in an airline approved cage, but just didn't think of the logistics of getting him through the security. Well, the screener was obviously not a cat lover! She first requested I remove him from the cage and walk through the metal detector with him. Well, since I always set off the detector anyways due to artificial joints, etc., I pointed out that that would not prove anything. I also express concern that if I removed him from the cage he might bolt, he was nerved up. I didn't have a harness or leash on him (remembered to do so after that). Well, she just got impatient and before I realized what she was doing she shoved the cat, cage and all, through the metal detector! Poor kitty was nervous enough as it was, then to be put through that noisy, dark tunnel, he came out the other end shaking like a leaf! Honestly, they could have handled it differently. Perhaps they could have wanded the cage, or let us go to an enclosed room to remove the cat from the cage so if he bolted at least I wouldn't be chasing him all over the airport. Then they could have sent the empty cage through the metal detector, then wanded the cat. There were many more options than what she did. BTW, two years after that incident my kitty got cancer of the jaw and had to be put down. He was old and that type of cancer is common in elderly cats, but I can't help but wonder if all that radiation did something. It certainly didn't do him any good. Oh, well, that was several years ago, but if you're traveling with a pet remember to have him on a leash for such times (I was taking him on board the aircraft and just didn't anticipate having to remove him enroute, should have thought ahead)
