Stringray City Excursion & Young Children???

Hi,
We booked a cruise on the Disney Magic for Feb 2003. Our DD will be almost 5 when we go and we really wanted to take her to Stringray City. I see the post for the Western excursions say that
the age for children is 6-9 years. Has anyone ever been to the Grand Caymans and swam with the Stingrays?? I will really be sad if they do not let her do this. One of the excursions you do not even get out of the boat???? This was one of the main reasons for choosing the Western and I don't want to put it off till she is older. This is our last big vacation before she starts school.
I am sure there is plenty more to do,but we had our hearts set
on the Sting Rays.

Last May we went to the Grand Cayman Isl. on a Carnival Cruise. We went to Stingray City by catamaran. My son was just 7 years old and it was a little overwhelming for him. When we first arrived at the sandbar, there were 3 other boats there. Many adults and teens were screaming in the water because the stingrays are everywhere. They swim up against you and many of them are on the floor of the ocean. You have to try not to step on them. Some of them are over 4 ft long/wide plus the tail! It was back on the boat for my son and I. My dd was 9 and my dh and she had a great time snorkelling with the stingrays. I personally was glad to have an excuse to get out of the water. I don't recall if there was an age requirement, but the water is about 4 ft deep. If it wasn't so crowded, I think he wouldn't have been so freaked out. I personally wouldn't bring an almost 5 yo. It was pretty neat, for the 5 minutes I got to be in the water. Sorry, I wish I had better news for you. Snorkelling is great in Cozumel!! I'm sure you'll have a great time whatever you do!!
