My work colleague was absolutely thrilled to pieces with Disneyland Paris said the strikes hadn't spoilt their holiday at all. She did mention that on one day they had gotten a place for the parade to be told it wasn't being held. She went into a shop only to be grabbed by her family not so long afterwards to be told the parade was back on.
I'm hoping to hear more tomorrow - today was very hectic children wise and so no time to talk!!

Great to hear the views of a guest. Suspect like most strikes the workers talk up the effects of the actions.

I hope so! The fact that we've heard nothing about the strikes today is hopefully an indicator that there's nothing to tell. Here's hoping!

Good news. Strike is over...at the moment. Sarah, you lucky woman...strike ends on your arrival to DLRP

Negotiations will start on Sep 28th. Lets hope there won't be more incidents.

Yee Haa I'd didn't fancy arriving in the middle of a strike

we have just got back from 4 nights at DLP (thurs 14th to mon 18th) and we did notice the strikes but they didn't affect our enjoyment at all. I think because we were already in France (we did 11 nights elsewhere first) we hadn't heard about anything happening so weren't looking for it. The only disruption we had was the parades on Friday being cancelled and seeing the protesters march through th studious on Friday just before the parade. On saturday as we were entering the park we heard the protesters in the underground tunnels but the parades were on as usual and we even had fireworks which weren't supposed to be on.

Didn't notice any kind of strike action in newport bay at all.

The negotiations concerning the salary will be advanced reopened.
They will start on the 28 september.

Cancelling parades?! This sounds like a nightmare! Any further updates?

Just had to comment on this thread. We (OH & myself) stayed at DLP between 11th - 15th September and it was a nightmare. NO PARADES all week, running the gauntlet of pickets to get through the gates, getting trapped in the Castle while marching strikers barged through, children scared and feeling totally intimidated. Never again!

I have complained in writing to Disney in US and hope to get some kind of compensation for a wasted holiday. Basically, it was a very expensive shopping trip!

Like other posts have said, I feel so angry that we scrimped and saved all year to take this holiday before we retire. I feel totally ripped off. Not to mention being ripped off by a staff member on our last day who charged us 20 Euros more than he should have for the entry fee.

Grrrrrrr !!!

We were there the same date as you Aran Lady we went into city hall to ask for a complaints form and came out with Free tickets for one day to use by 14th sept next yeear a and copies of all the characters autographs on paper.

I dont think you will get much joy by writing to US as its run by different company.

Thanks Karen, glad you got some joy. I've sent a copy of my US letter to the address above and will see what comes out of it. Unfortunately, if they'd given us free tickets for next year, it would have been wasted as we plan to go to Florida the year after, so are giving DLP a miss. We went to DLP last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, so were bitterly disappointed in the reception this year. Didn't realise US was a different company to France, but there you go. They've all got the details now, so watch this space

We arrive at DLP on Tuesday (3rd Oct), first visit, with a 5 year old. Can anyone confirm that all strike action etc is over?

I fully sympathise with strikers, as have been taking industrial action myself this year, but wish I'd realised what was going on when we booked.

I heard, but its just a rumour, that IFF the negotiations wouldn’t be successfully the strike will be continued in the last two weeks of December.
We just will have to wait and see.
