I use an old-timey recipe from my late mom that we like. I don't know where she got it from, but it's probably been around for a long time.

:
Strawberry Pie
1 c. sugar
6 tbsp. strawberry Jello (dry powder from box, regular strawberry flavor or can use wild strawberry flavor)
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. boiling water
4 c. prepared strawberries (cleaned and tops removed, can be cut or left whole)
1 Keebler Ready Crust Shortbread cookie crust (found in baking aisle, usually beside the prepared graham cracker crusts)
Mix first 3 ingredients well. Add boiling water and cook over medium heat until thick. Cool. After this has cooled, add strawberries (can be cut or left whole). Pour in pie shell and put in fridge. Serve with whipped cream.
FYI - also when fresh peaches are in season you can substitute peach jello and cut fresh peaches for a yummy peach pie.
Oh I just found a picture of the crust - it looks like this, and is surprisingly good. See where it's marked "Shortbread", NOT graham cracker crust:
