We will be in WDW from the night of Wed,Nov 16-Thurs,Nov 24 (leaving 8am Thanksgiving morning). One of the 1st things I am going to plan is the Family Magic Tour. Does anyone have any thoughts on what would be the best day to do this & why? I am always up for a good planning idea from a fellow DIS'er!

FAMILY MAGIC TOUR
Magic Kingdom

A tour the whole family can enjoy is offered at the Magic Kingdom. Family Magic Tour takes you on a one-of-a-kind interactive tour through Main St, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. During the 2 hours, you are taken through the park's themed lands in search of clues (like a treasure hunt).

Offered daily at 10 a.m.

Great minds think alike! I posted this same question last week. Here's the link to the thread. Everyone suggested waiting until the last day... although my TA at DU suggested earlier (kids may be so tired by the last day and not up to the antics).

We ended up doing it the 3rd day of trip. Doing that in the am, taking LONG nap, and then going to MVMCP that night. It's kind of a "rest" day for us.

HTH!

We are doing the Family Magic Tour on our last full day in May. It is scheduled for a friday morning which is an EMH morning at MK , so we plan to get to MK early and ride some rides then do the tour at 10 and lunch afterwards at Crystal Palace! We are really looking forward to this. You can get a discount for the tour if you have AAA or Disney Visa too. :flower:

We have it scheduled for our last full day at MK. I figured that since we'll have already been ad WDW for 11 days they kids won't worry that they're missing some rides and will enjoy the FMT more. It's on a Monday, I don't know if that makes any difference or not. We have an 8:05 PS at CP and then we'll head over for the FMT.

I have it planned for our first full day there.. I figure we will get to the park early and have DD's hair done and then off to the tour. It's not our first visit and neither of us are really into the rides so it should be a big hit to start our vacation off right!!!!

Since it's not your first time there, then I think it can be just about any time.

For us, we are doing it our last full day there because we have never been and I'm pretty sure it would be a disaster to attempt to do it earlier.

We are doing the Mickey's Magical Milestone tour on Friday and then on Sunday doing the Family Magic Tour. We have Cinderella's breakfast scheduled before it.

I was wondering the same for our trip in Jan 06--I know planning way out! :)

We'll be arriving Thurs 1/5 and will be running in the 1/2 marathon & Family Fun 5K on Sat the 7th. We'll be staying until Fri, the 13th ( :earseek: ), have no flights booked yet, so probably not the last day for us.

Any opinions, suggestions?

Also, anyone know which gives the better discounts, Disney Visa or AAA?

And, what is the minimum age for Mickey's Magical Milestone tour? I was thinking it was probably 10 or so, right?

TIA!

Any age is welcomed but it is *RECOMMENDED* for ages 10 & up. However, you can book it for younger kids too. It will be me, my 8 year old & 11 year old on it.

Thanks for the info, I was looking up some info on it after I posted (good thinking, huh? lol) and saw 10 but didn't realize it was recommended. DH will be 9 in Dec, about a month before we go and I think he's like that one too!

I guess we'll see you there. DH is running the marathon and I think the kids are running in the kids race on the 7th.

Cool, there is a big group on the WISH board here that will be there for either the 1/2, full or for moral support. I hope the crowds will be less for the 1/2 and full, when I ran the 1/2 2 years ago it was so crowded. With the split venur (1/2 on sat, 1/2 on sun) hopefully it will unclog the routes for all the runners.

Still trying to decide what day to book this, thinking Tues or Wed morning now.

Maybe we'll see you there!

we did this tour last week on our last full day...it was perfect...it helps if the kids have been around the park a bit as they have to solve clues to know where to go aroung MK and if it is their first day they may not know...it would still be plenty of fun but more involvement if they can help figure it out...

by the way it was the most fun we have had in the MK as a family...highly recommend it!!

OK - I just booked the tour for Saturday, 11/19/05. No rhyme or reason other than that is the day it looked like it would work out the best for us. By the way, AAA and Disney VISA offer discounts - AAA is 15% & Disney Visa is 20%.....so I booked with Disney Visa & got a 20% discount for my family of 4. VERY EXCITED about this tour :flower: :flower: :flower: :flower: :flower: :flower: :flower: !!!!

Do you have to pay with the VISA to get the discount? Sorry to sound dense, but I'd rather pay for it on another card, but also have AAA so I could just use that.

Do you pay when you make the reservation or on the date or what? TIA!
