Planning a girls’ only trip (3 of us—my 26 year old daughter and my sister) for early March 2020. I’ve stayed at the Poly many, many years ago using an AP discount. I’ve rented points before to stay at the Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would love to stay at the Poly. Do I try and book 12 months out? Any other tips I should be aware of?

We're staying at the Poly in Feb on rented points. The maximum lead time is 11 months, as @rwdavis2 mentioned. Contact one of the couple of DVC rental companies shortly before that time to put in your request. And, I agree with the travel insurance. I purchased ours through TravelGuard, so even if we have to cancel, we'll be reimbursed. It was very reasonable. The savings with points rental were incredible. I've had a great experience so far, I guess we'll see when we actually go!
