I have a RT non stop booked to Dallas next Saturday (5/9) on AA. I already know I’m not going. However, I’d like a full cash refund. I know I can only getthis if the flight is cancelled or changed by 90 minutes or more. That is not the case at this time.

When I look to see what is happening with that same flight this Saturday (5/2), it is now a 1 stop. What’s the likelihood of that happening on 5/9? Do I just wait until 5/8 and see what happens?

Yeah, pretty much just have to wait and see.

Saturday is an incredibly slow flying day during normal times so maybe the odds are in your favor that they'll add a connection.

You would have to wait and see. I'm not sure if airline policies differ, but I know on Southwest you have to cancel by 10 minutes prior to the flight's departure time in order to get the airline credit. Otherwise, you forfeit it. So just make yourself aware of AA's policy so you can cancel it yourself if need be.
